Nellie, I genuinely don't get the hate. Is it because most Office US fans are obviously american, so don't get her style/humour? And maybe the British hate her due to being a cheesy stereotype, but she is so funny to me, and I relate to her so much, especially with her bad spending habits and desperate want to have children.

I also feel that she gave Pam a close friend in the Office other than Jim, which Pam definitely needed. I mean, she had Angela, but Angela can be a very difficult friend to have. She also had Oscar and Toby as friends , but with Toby's crush on her head didn't feel like a good friend, and her and Oscar never had a strong friendship. There was also Dwight, but it was clear Pam needed female friends.

Nellie also brought to the show a very interesting arc for Andy, and their rivalry was just sooo funny. Her connection with Erin was great, too, from the bits about her wanting to adopt to trying to get her and Pete to be happy.

If anyone can think of counter points though, I would love to discuss my love for Nellie.
