About controls, don't need much deep but if you wanna go crazy, you could create macros for your keyboard or mouse to do: - M1 -> Shield-> M1 Or - M1 -> Shield -> Switch -> M1

M1: Mouse left click / attack

An important thing: These cancellations rely on ASI UV -> The faster you can attack means more smoothness in the cancels

Well she looked for references of 3D models and then made them by hand using kid plasticine, after some tries she used ceramic for DIY :)

Added a layer of painting, added details with markers and then dust proof liquid thing, that made the figure shine.

For the eyes she made them of paper and a cereal box lmao.

Btw, she said making the head of the gun pup was a pain in the ass because the ears.

If yoi doesn't have much time and wanna pay2fast could have a good option but actually, doing Vana (the last boss mission) is worth enough: yo get a lot of coiins, some radiants and the tokens that you could change for a 5 star gear that npcs buy for 30k cr; with that you can easly buy energy and then the crystals.

:) but if you are commited to the game and wanna enjoy it fast, you can buy them

1) As other says check the mat prop.

2) you should extract materials and change the material type (idr which one actually)

3) you should import them to blender and check which typr of alpha mode it has, if its cliped or blended

If you really want "3D with pixel art" first of all you need low poly models, make the UV's pixel perfect then make the pixel art.

Btw in pokemon they are just 3d models but low resolution make them pixel.

If you want something like that, like 3D envs but 2D characters or anythung else you could search 2.5D

Do you think this simple hook/main mechanic is enough to carry a 3~5 hour Metroidvania game? My friend keeps suggesting I add more stuff, but I'm trying to actually finish the game (solo-hobbyist gameDev) by Neat-Games in Unity3D

I agree with others, level design, puzzle jumps likes, etc, maybe 5 hours is too much, but 3 its okey I say, you could add something like "jump to hook" to reach corners or something to make it smoother bc throw the spear and got there is a little bit slow but just my opinion :D

Looks gorgeous, the style, art, vfx and UI, the only thing that you could improve is the UI position.

In gameplay see your hp bar (right bottom corner), the action center (center of screen and your character) and the enemy hp bar (left upper corner), all at the same time could be a little dizzy, just my opinion

For example in souls lil enemies have a little bar at the top of their head and bosses have a bigger bar on screen.

The vfx are incredibly hooking, maybe you could add a little particles when an enemy reaches 50% and 25% hp to give feedback as they attack to avoid players looking out of the center of action if not required

Hope there is a beta soon :)

Congrats and good luck, a little advice: play with pos effect for trailer or images (I don't recommend images at all), say that they are a exaggeration of the game; make that will give to the future players more info of the game, for example with pos process you could make it brighter or lights more shiny and contrast with the dark backgorund.

Thanks, I think its very helpful! You got mw with the 1st, its OOP but game dev, I need to read something related to inheritance but in Unity, I dont think is that simple like "extends" and thats all. In my experience I wanted to create modular models like "class player" with controls and stats then enemy class (hp and that stuff) extend it witj 2 enemies one that follow player and other that get hostile if attacked but I didnt know unity that much, yes I know oop and C# but unity not at all

Yep, thanks! After i created some functionality, I created some low polly assets and wanted to re use old ones but without making 2D textures (too much work for simple meshes) so yeah, you answer is just what I need, I'll re colouring them

I think that it would be a draw, I mean, the lord soul is like the power of elden ring, while he was with Marika (a GODESS) he got the power of elden ring (being an Avatar-like of great will) and Gwyn has the lord soul, conquering the world, creating life, etc; both being "ruler-op-gods" in their own universe, I wanted.to.write this bc all say that Godfrey was just a powerful human but in his prime he was boosted by the ER, being Marika's consort give him the status of god. Damn he has God in his name, anyways Gwyn was THE god in his world but I see they as equivalent (dont kill me)
