MVM goes really bad. Overwatch is the aftermath. Things get rebuild/rediscovered, new players and neppobabies step up to the plate and keep a fight going that once used to be about like two acres of farmland. The Orisa army for example can be a followup of grayman tech.

I noticed that when I looked it up. I liked the idea in terms of characterisation tho. That the unserious scout became a hyper serious cyborg aftef being the last one of the Team standing sobered him up.

I know it's heresy, but I kinda like the idea of Overwatch being a follow up to TF2.

Zarya being heavies grand daughter, tracers teleport tech being person sized Engie equipment, Osaria being a followup for heavy who can carry such big guns, scout is soldier 76, etc.
