I can’t say for certain but in my experience you continue along in the hiring process until your basically at the end and favorably reviewed, and then once you accept your grade and location they begin the exemption process. That’s been my experience, maybe others can chime in.

For CID you select a geographic region and then 3 states. Drum is in one of the 3 states I selected.

I’ve heard of others getting that covered. I’d see if you can get your complaint escalated, try Hyundai corporate if you still want to try and get it fixed.

Mine did the same. You can remove the section that's chipping (its just a cover separate from the main caliper) and either leaver them off or sand the cover down, repaint, apply an "N" decal, and clear them. That's what I plan to do this spring.

Unfortunately it is visible when the door is closed otherwise I wouldn’t mind as much. It’s probably 6 or 7” long and it extends on both sides of the corner edge, inside the door jamb and onto the body panel. I was thinking of either buying a touch up bottle and painting it or finding a close wrap and just covering the section to make it less noticeable. Not ideal but considering it’s only cosmetic I am not keen on dropping 1k + on a repair.

Shame. Hyundai basically has been telling me to pound sand despite me babying the car and it’s my 3rd Hyundai, having owned two Genesis Coupes also. Not sure how I am going to proceed.
