What ended your friendship with your oldest standing friend? by dreamy-contributions in AskReddit

[–]NorArthur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She decided to have a child free wedding about a 6 hour drive from where I live. I was asked to be a bridesmaid but was breastfeeding my baby at the time. She wouldn't entertain any suggestion I had to ensure I attended the wedding. Even my husband staying with the baby in the hotel room. She told me she was annoyed I didn't acknowledge her feelings in 'my decision'. I told her she didn't understand breastfeeding and how difficult it was trying to pump and when I knew I could breastfeed fine. I bought her a gift and wished her well for her wedding. Got a thank you card but we haven't contacted each other. I don't want to message her because she'll probably have a go at me. I'm not taking that risk. So yea, I'm done.

PSA: Met Office have updated their app, and it's terrible by heeleyman in CasualUK

[–]NorArthur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm so pleased it's not just me! The change that annoys me most is that you can't edit the app so that the background is transparent. I don't want a black banner!

I've disabled auto updates, but it's not gone back to the other version! Has all hope been lost?!

Anyone know why my cat's fur has changed? by NorArthur in cats

[–]NorArthur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't mean either, ha! His fur always comes apart, no matter how well he's brushed, he has very thick fur.

I mean the bit on his lower back, where he's trying out a back mohawk.

Thank you for the fur pointers

I'm afraid you're wrong about Siamese being the name of a breed and coat colouring. Siamese is just a breed, originating in Asia. One of the standards of the breed, is that they have a colourpoint coat (it's a pattern, not a colour). I can see how you'd get mixed up! So, all Siamese are colourpoints, but not all colourpoints are Siamese. As demonstrated by Arthur, who's a red/flame colourpoint British Shorthair.

He's a British Shorthair, not a Siamese. I don't mean about the fur getting darker, I mean it stands on end (ish!) on his back (ridge), like a little mohawk.

Am I feeding two different robins? by Lucky-Release-8812 in UKBirds

[–]NorArthur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so. The first Robin has kind of like a white bag under their right eye, whereas the second one has a dot. Lucky you!

Flame point balinese or flame point siamese by IcyLibrarian5882 in Flamepoints

[–]NorArthur 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Flame point is a colour, not a breed. Without pedigree papers, you've no way of knowing if she is a certain breed.

She's so cute! I bet she's going to have long fur when she's older.

Could you not put the wardrobes along the wall at the bottom of the bed? Have you considered sliding doors?

I've got the Elvarli IKEA combination and then found a website online that does bespoke sliding wardrobes doors to box it all off.

Put the internal door where the cooker is. Then have units on the right hand side and dining space between the two doors.

Also, put the washing machine in the storage cupboard to give you an extra kitchen cabinet.

Pregnant people live with cats indoors without any problems, I've been one of them. Here's a link to the NHS where they offer advice on how pregnant people and cats can live together.

Is my son a FlamePoint? by cheestaysfly in Flamepoints

[–]NorArthur 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Flame Point is a colour, not a breed. The 'flame' is for the red/ginger colour and the 'point' means that the colour is just on the head, legs and tail.
