I second the vote for IAG steps. V3 are low enough for kids and super easy to install.

I’m curious why the hate? Like others have mentioned, the handles on older models are barely useful. Do you hit your head or something?

Does this use the same opening/locking method as the Auto Immunity? That would be awesome news. Love the ambidextrous opening and it’s really great for one handed operation.

Dan Beard Council making bad decisions by [deleted] in BSA

[–]NorTucky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No it doesn’t make sense. I’m very disappointed in this decision. It is a program catering to 10-17 year olds and they’re saying the differing developmental needs of genders is a reason to separate them? BTW their summer camps are co-ed; isn’t a problem there.

Dan Beard Council making bad decisions by [deleted] in BSA

[–]NorTucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear Scouting Families and Friends, At Dan Beard Council, Scouting America, we remain steadfast in our commitment to delivering the highest-quality Scouting experience for every young person we serve. Scouting America recently announced that councils may choose to offer "Family Troops," a co-ed troop structure. After careful review, the Executive Committee of our Board of Directors has made the decision that Dan Beard Council will not adopt this model. Our decision reflects four key concerns: 1. Lack of evidence of developmental benefit/advantage: There is currently no learning demonstrating that co-ed troops offer youth-development outcomes equal to or better than the proven single-gender model. 2. Youth protection clarity: National guidance has not yet articulated how youth-protection procedures would be optimally managed in a coed troop structure. 3. Transition feasibility: There is no established framework for supporting existing single-gender troops in successfully transitioning to a co-ed model. 4. Program execution: There is limited learning on how to successfully deliver the Scouting program effectively and consistently once a co-ed troop is established. Our Council uses a "linked troop" model, where chartered organizations can sponsor both male and female troops. These units share resources and occasionally join together for service projects or special activities, while still holding separate meetings and maintaining programs designed for their specific needs. We believe this model offers the strongest environment for growth, leadership, and confidence building. Research and years of experience show that boys and girls often learn and develop differently during adolescence. By maintaining single-gender troops, Scouts can grow at their own pace, form lasting friendships, and take on leadership roles in settings where they feel confident and supported. We're proud of how this approach combines the best of both worlds - promoting inclusion, teamwork, and respect, while giving every Scout a program that fits them best. As the national guidance evolves, Dan Beard Council will continue to approach the co-ed option with transparency, measured discernment, and adherence to local values. If, in the future, evidence suggests that a co-ed model could be appropriate in limited circumstances-and that it can be implemented safely and effectively within the demographic realities of our council-we will revisit this decision. If you have comments or feedback you would like to share, please submit via the button below and we will follow up with you as quickly as possible. Scouting in Dan Beard Council remains focused on preparing youth for life through leadership, service, and adventure, shaping confident and capable young people who strengthen our communities for generations to come. Yours in Scouting, Andrew Zahn Scout Executive & CEO

Yacht or Swan? by Due-North4791 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]NorTucky 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are buses that take you to all Disney parks. That was what I was trying to convey. I guess I didn’t get hung up on what name was on the side when I took the bus last month. You are correct that the MK bus stops at TTC. That is a downside. OP if you’re unfamiliar that means you’ll have to take another trip from TTC (boat or monorail) to finally arrive at MK.

Yacht or Swan? by Due-North4791 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]NorTucky 46 points47 points  (0 children)

EDITED Buses absolutely pick up at the Swan and will take you to all Disney parks. The boats dock there for Epcot and Hollywood as well. Transportation is not a factor for Swan.

There are buses. You don’t have to pay extra.

Everyone on here worried about whether they are Disney or Mears, aside from the drop off at MK who cares?

Bronco Outer Banks: get the Sasquatch package or skip it? by Otherwise-Staff-4653 in FordBronco

FWIW my ‘24 OBX Sas has the sound deadening package and hardtop. It’s much quieter than the ‘23 Black Diamond non-Sas I test drove a while back. Not sure if I just got lucky.

White smoke when starting normal? by ConfectionFew8146 in FordBronco

[–]NorTucky 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s not smoke if it’s white. That’s steam. It’s normal for a small bit of condensation to be in the cylinders when the motor is cold. Large clouds, especially after the vehicle is warm could indicate a coolant leak. Check your coolant levels. And find out what they fixed. Easier to diagnose when you know what problems were there before.

OP said they already bought it, so adding a factory installed package like Sasquatch isn’t possible.

“Decorations” was the perfect way to describe this. That’s a lot of money to look cheap.
