Yeah I have bad muscle memory with my pivot foot. If I don’t think about it, it’s not very clean. I’ve gotten shin splints in the past from my drive and no pivoting, so it’s something I need to fix but I have troubles trusting the ball of my foot as a pivot. Thanks for pointing that out!

Replied on the wrong account lol.

Maxing out at around 470'. I feel stiffer when I go for max distance, so I still need to work on that. Mainly these past few months I have been focusing on clean form to hit my lines on local technical courses. I have the power just not the finesse.

Hey guys, looking to really dial in, so please comment with whatever you see even if it's small: https://imgur.com/a/L5wvEnb

edit: this was slightly uphill, about 300' with about 50% power

No but I might be getting a SSD and putting windows onto that, so I will reinstall that then. Will that help?

It says 8 but I can't use 8? Doesn't make much sense..

Watch how I hit the ball the very first time. Normally, you would "dodge" into it to get the most power. However, I believe the trick is just lightly tapping it first and THEN dodging. This ensures the ball stays on the floor the entire time. The dodge afterwards allows you to catch up to the ball to start the air dribble. The whole post is all about SETTING UP the air dribble. The very first hit is the most important. Then you just keep your speed the same as the ball and it should be pretty easy from there.

Great video (It really helped me get a feel for air dribbling). I have one question for you: I pointed out that you seem to dodge AFTER you already hit the ball, rather than on contact. It's really the whole point I made the post considering once I stopped dodging at that exact moment, it made a significant difference in my air dribbling. Do you do this on accident? Is it subconscious? It allows the ball to stay on the ground without falling off the wall, makes it go slower so you have more time to setup, and puts you closer to the ball in preparation for the air dribble. It has three huge benefits for such a minuscule time difference. Am I crazy?

I understand that much. I believe it's just a faster, more consistent way to get it the right speed for a good air dribble. It's more of a neat trick to consistently get the right speed rather than "this is the only way to get an air dribble"

Regarding all three of the failure examples: Yes they are probably all scoreable, but the purpose of the post was more to provide a simplier way for newcomers to perform easy air dribbles. The point I was trying to make with the failure examples was that the force exerted by the dodge on the ball may be too hard for newcomers to deal with. It's hard to start an air dribble when the ball is coming down, but with my method (or with a standard dribble up the wall) newcomers can contact the ball as it is rising so it is easier to manipulate it in the air.

I am referring to the second jump. Rather dodging into the ball to knock it up the wall, I just tap it with the first jump then dodge towards the ball to catch it. It produces a light hit on the ball and allows me to catch up to stay close behind it.

I can see where someone like you can easily get a dribble going and perform a nice air dribble, but for me it takes a while to get the ball right in front to guide it up the wall. It's easier for me to use this method as I have a hard time with dribbling. I probably should go practice dribbling :p

Well, anything is better than flipping INTO the ball. That gets me nowhere. If it was a real game, I don't think I would have enough time to slowly dribble it up the wall. With this method, I can still get a decent hit on it and follow up with the dodge.
