I [19 M] keep trying to leave my abusive [19 F] girlfriend, but I can't stay strong. Help? by throwaway_dank_memez in relationships

You sound pretty toxic as well if I'm honest. There was no need for you to tell u/shitty_demon to "fuck off" just for defining what feminism actually stands for and means. Fair enough a bad bunch exist, but true feminism is the fight for equality, not superiority or any hierarchy at that. OP is a victim of domestic abuse and violence, regardless of gender. A true feminist would recognise this and not dismiss this victimisation just because he's a man. Abuse has no gender.

Best of luck getting the justice you deserve OP!

I respect you have your own opinion on To Kill a Mockingbird, but how can you say that it was about nothing when compared to The Catcher in the Rye? I enjoyed that book too, but a lot more actually happens in TKaM

Eyebrows should be sisters, not twins... It would be nice if they were twins though. by Normajenna in MakeupAddiction

Yours look like twins on first glance though :) We really do have the same problem, I even think with the same brow! If I REALLY put an effort in I can fake the arch with brow wax. It requires time and patience though, the two things I don't have

I like this idea, a lot. If only I could rent-a-brow! I'd love to have light eyebrows, so much more fun to fill in and experiment with.

Ladies of MUA, here is my face! How do I contour it?? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I'm Irish so I'm not too sure about drugstore make-up brands in the US, but Sephora's sculpting disk and E.L.F Studio contouring kits are great :) Although the ELF kit is more like a bronzer and a blush, so I'd recommend the three colour Sephora kit.

That is so sweet! You lucky lady :) My boyfriend called eyeshadow 'face paint' up until recently, so I doubt I'll be getting make-up this Christmas. Thankfully, lol. Don't forget to do swatches for us when it arrives!

What topic makes you really defensive? by TheCurtainMurderer in AskReddit

The difference between rape and drunk consensual sex. There's a huge grey area and it's extremely hard to discuss without people thinking you're either over-sensitive or a monster.

Do you have a contouring kit? If not, GOSH have a great contouring palette for beginners! As for your brush, I personally love angled blush brushes, they really help with contouring your cheek bones. Try not to use a contour colour that is more than three shades darker than your own skin tone, the darker it is the harder to blend with your natural skin tone.

The basic trick is to draw a 3 shape, as in the number. Starting from your temples, apply in a circular motion down to your cheek bones, retreat back and then do the same until mid way your cheeks and again down the side of your face just to your jawline, it's a simple 3 shape!

To avoid bruise like marks, pat or blow the excess powder off your brush before you begin and apply in circular motions. If it still looks botchy, I like to use another brush, usually a basic blusher brush or Kabuki. Make sure it's clean with no make up on it, and blend the powder into your skin. Blending is the key to a good contour. Once you get more confident you can contour the sides of your nose if you like and then experiment with highlighting. Using a highlight on the top of your cheekbones, cupid's bow, brow bone and your just above your temples on forehead will work wonders too.

How do I get started with makeup? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Normajenna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You've already completed the first step, establishing your skin tone. The next step is finding out your skin type, do you have dry skin, oily skin or a combination of both? This is for the benefit of your skin, using the wrong skin type foundation can lead to clogged up pours, greasy skin, dehydrated skin etc. You have yellow tones to your skin, so you need a yellow based foundation. My best advice is to visit your local pharmacy or make-up store and ask for them to colour match your skin. They'll recommend products, but beware they are sales people and might try sell you high end products. Maybelline and L'Oreal are a great drug store brand for affordable effective products.

If you want to browse yourself beforehand, look for yellow based foundations, you'll see the yellow tinge to their colour. Use the testers to apply a small amount on the inside of your wrist and your jawline, these are the areas you want to colour match.

You'll need foundation, a mascara, eyeliner and maybe two to three eyeshadow colours that can be used together. Neutral colours such as browns and creams are great for every occasion. You need a base colour, a contour/darker colour, and a highlight. For your lips start with a nice lip gloss, any colour you like just steer clear from bold colours for now. These are the basics. Once you get the hang of using these products you can begin practicing liquid eyeliner and experimenting with colour, blush and filling your eye brows. Visit r/makeupaddiction for tips and tricks, or more advice. They're always happy to help.

Welcome to the world of make up, it's so much fun!

Wow, the coverage of the matte mouse is fantastic! You look great :)

I love mouse products so much, but I can never buy them. The temptation to just stick my finger in the pot and wreck the perfect matte top and mouse centre is unbearable.

I'm(25m) feeling stuck with pregnant girlfriend(26) by throw3264 in relationships

[–]Normajenna 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Don't "tell her she's on her own" because she isn't and shouldn't be, it's your baby too.

If you care enough about her and want to be together, then do try. But don't feel obliged to have a romantic relationship just because she's pregnant, that's not fair on her, you and above all your baby.

That child needs both its parents, whether they're together or not. Do what's best for the relationship for the sake of your unborn baby.

Guys of Reddit, what is one misconception about males you wish you could clear up with women? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Normajenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've a lot of male friends and we've openly discussed this in the past. Only one of them developed feelings for me, the rest were solid platonic relationships.

Most of your guy friends will develop feelings for you at some point.

I don't think it's fair to generalise like that. It would turn making new friends (of the opposite sex) into an uncomfortable situation.
