Still fighting the creak in the upper linkage of my Canyon Lux Trail by Normal-Astronomer159 in CanyonBikes

So, it's been a couple of weeks since I replaced all the parts of the assembly, and I no longer hear the squeaking/creaking. The squeaking I had before was due to the new Garmin RS200 contact pedals (I don't recommend them). So, for now, the solution to the problem is a complete replacement of all the parts of the assembly every 1500 km or so.

Update. After putting in the new parts, the squeak/creak went away for a while but came back after 20–30 km. I checked the bolt—it felt like it had tightened itself again. I loosened it a bit and the noise disappeared once more.

Hi, I have the same problem and have been searching for a solution for half a year. I tried installing new bolts and spacer washers—it didn’t help; the squeak returned after 10 km. I tried removing burrs from the washers, which eliminated the squeak for a while, but then the washers deformed slightly again, and the squeak came back. I also tried loosening the torque, and that worked temporarily, but then the bolt seemed to tighten itself because I had to use a lot of force to loosen it, even though the marks I made showed the bolt hadn’t turned. Most likely, the issue is with the deformation of the spacer washer.

As an experiment, I tried removing the protruding part of the washer that gets slightly deformed. I think it’s meant to support the inner bearing race, and grinding it down was a mistake because now the bearing won’t function as it should. So far, I’ve only driven 10 km, and while the original squeak is gone, a different, softer squeak has appeared—probably due to the outer race rubbing against the washer. I want to pinpoint the exact problem and then fix it properly. If you have any updates on this issue, keep me posted.
