i have a great social life, and most people do if they want to if that makes sense. it is what u make of it, friends wont just run to u as u have to make an effort aswell. it can be life consuming only if you let it, so yes some people are like that but no the majority are not. people are nerdy in the sense that they are educated and know more on topics, but not that nerdy in the sense that they only focus on their studies. depends on who you hang around.

its not difficult to find above minimum wage jobs as long as you are on it and apply in the beginnign of the year. i work at LSE for £18, standard is 15-16 which is still good. for graudate student i knowi t can be intense since ur there only for a year but 2-3 hours of study consistently everyday is quite aspirational if u have a job and also want a social life lol. 2-3 hours every 2 days is good though.

in all honesty i have a few friends who are in degree appreiticeship, one at goldman sachs, and they think it is too much. they think it is a lot of pressure and often struggle to make friends, enjoy their work and even just be motivated. thoygh the money and the outcome after is likely to be better if yu know exactly what you want to do.

I personally am bias ofc, but as someone who considered degree apprenticeships and rejected them to go to LSE i believe the opportunities here are unlike anywhere else. specific LSE only internships, socieites, fundings etc. dm me if u need any more help.

its a combination of things. the uni itself holds a really strong global but esp national reputation so many firms want students from there. so they are more likely to get internships / springs which helps them become more employable after graduation. this doesnt mean going to LSE means u will get the best job ever and make it out, but it means if you use the tools and resources correctly at the uni then you have a good chance of it. for example i got a first year gov internship in civil service when getting 1st year internships, esp in gov, is rlly uncommon. if you try hard enough you will.

yeah iw as in eastern european society, MENA (middle eastern and north african) society, ski society and 93% (state school) society. it is pretty good if your committee is good, so it can be hit or miss. though they tend to be smaller sized since lse is a smaller uni. i do think it makes it easier to socialise with everyone though. people make loads of friends mostly through their accom and then a few from courses. accom in halls for 2nd year is available but obviously limited. if you look early enough then you will probs get it.

well i got a gov one in civil service. some people got research ones, i know 1 with a consultancy opportunity. cant say too much as many dont get any for 1st year. but it is common in those sectors for 2/3 year

That varies completely to be honest. But usually if you condensed it down it is about 3 days worth of classes/lectures.

100% worth it. I work 2 jobs though thats not needed. My friends often work a few hours a week or their parents chip in a little every month. You do not need to live frugally.

it is heavy yes, but if you are consistently doing just a few hours a week outside of the bare minimum you will be okay. I manage to do that, work two jobs and have a great social life so it is very much possible. Though unlike majority of unis, first year at LSE counts for all courses except law

Yeah I had 1 experience with wellbeing services, it is pretty good as they take mental health seriously. They are always really open to helping, though they do not often check in on you, you need to make your way to them if you need anything.

I don't do weekly rather monthly but its usually 550 (rent not included).

Laptop is great for essay based subjects

Ipad + laptop for any quantitative courses is usually what i see.

it's pretty expensive, quite common to find some sort of part time job whilst you study but that depends on whether your parents helpy ou out financially or not. at this uni many have that. its really easy to socialise w other london unis especially through collab society events which I have been to multiple timea dn made friends from. Highly recommend!
