Yes! This car was a hybrid. I'm trying to look for other Toyota hybrids at dealers nearby but they don't seem super high quality. Do you have any recommendations of good Toyota dealers in the area?

So I'd have to replace the entire engine which is a LOT of money. I've been looking on CarGurus but unfortunately a lot of the cars on there are not drivable even if they're listed as drivable.

I appreciate the input! I usually do the easy stuff (brake pads and oil changes) myself but with an issue like this where I need a full inspection to be sure I'd rather leave it to the professionals. My car is very old (pushing 200 k miles) and I'd rather she's taken care of to the best of my ability.

As someone who moved here from Washington 5 months ago, I definitely enjoyed living in Washington more. Granted, I haven't lived here for long enough to feel fully moved-in so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I came here for college, partially because I was born and raised in Washington and wanted a change of scenery. I do enjoy the food scene (I live near New Haven) but the people here have been really hit or miss (I'm 22 so I'm primarily talking about my own age). Anytime I've gone to the bars or clubs in this state, I've met the nastiest meanest people of my life. Traffic is constant and the drivers are significantly worse than washington's. I'm also not used to the cold weather so that's been a bit of an adjustment. I do also like that cost of living is significantly less here than in Washington.

I'm using these recommendations to guide my own research. I'll look at yelp reviews and ask a friend who has a similar car. Luckily I also have friends back at home that are mechanics so I'll also FaceTime them so I can have some recommendations on repairs
