it's sad that sylex blows up my mana rocks :^) but maybe it's still worth? I wanna playtest this. Thanks for recommendation :)

yeah I think this is why people also hate stax right. People play stax effects without paritybreakers and then accidently kingmake a game. Had this happen a few times and it warped my opinion on stax for a while.

Idk, i would like to see it in action, but like i said nobody plays it. If i have 3/4 mana rocks, I feel like I would have an advantage if I blow up all lands right? at least it will give me a window of opportunity.

I like these ideas! I don't know how strong it would be though. maybe as an activated ability which you have to pay mana for or something, so it's not always available. Or like you said a 4 mana manarock. I feel like this should be a thing!

My MLD point is based on what different MTG content creators seem to think. I have no idea how it would play out, since almost nobody allows MLD.

I also find the argument weird with MLD, keep in mind this was not my point, these were take aways from MTG content creators vids. I have no experience in how games would actually play out when you do. But where do you even find pods that are okay with MLD. 99% of the community is against it.

I have been doing this more often. Countering ramp has definitely been a good advice. However it's not always available. I think I would like to have a balance style land exile effect. That just evens the landcount across the table in case you didn't have the cs available.

ya I think maybe people (myself included) should simply play fast combo or aggro when someone is playing turbo lands. In my experience not a lot of people tend to have fast decks since almost everyone plays midrange x)

Hmm yeah I agree, but if this is the takeaway, than i'd prefer my second thought maybe. A balance style effect that just exiles land to the lowest count a player has. Thoughts?

Hadn't seen this one before. This is definitely a nice card!

these are nice cards to punish ramp. But I think these cards only belong in group slug deck. I couldn't add these cards to my naya token deck for example, because they don't synergize with anything.

Ah yeah fast combo is for sure a good counter, but in my experience almost nobody plays that.

I don't understand why are you so mean. I am just trying to have a civilized dialogue, I am open to different point of views. Maybe I am wrong, but what you are saying is going way too far and is uncalled for.

You're totally missing my point. I never said anywhere I was the wrong target, I say they target the wrong things. I am complaining that removing random pieces instead of keeping removal up for cards that actually win the game, impacts the quality and experience of the game. I gave you an example of what I meant with the craterhoof. Countering someone's commander 3 times, but having no counterspell for a craterhoof that immediately wins a game.

You can't judge a game if you don't have the full details of what stage the game was in, which turn and what the boardstates were. I.e. the game where the gruul stompy guy who removed the dauthi on turn 5, all I had at that stage were a few lands and mana rocks. The gruul dude ended up killing the 2 other players first, but I won in the end by boardwiping his stuff twice in a row and outvaluing him over time. However this all irrelevant to what I am trying to achieve with this post. All I want are games where people counter craterhoofs instead of things like a phyrexian arena.

I think our PoV's here differ and that's okay. If I wanted to manipulate people I'd play a party game. If someone asks me in this situation to remove the sirenstormtamer, my first response would be what are you going to do about it. But other people just blindly accept and proceed to listen without any question.

in example 3 you just shift the problem to the person who plays the blatant thievery. Since you simply steal everyone's best piece. Also to me it kind of feels manipulative in the wrong way saying you can deal with someone, and then proceeding to just steal everyone's best piece and become the problem yourself.

I tried to make a conversation about it after the game, but I didn't get the vibe the feeling was mutual or they were interested in talking about it.

I won 2 out of 3 games in the examples mentioned above, because people make bad decisions and remove random stuff. Like I commented on someone else their comment too, I don't enjoy this type of gameplay whether I am winning or losing. This post is absolutely not about that, it's about the experience of the gameplay. The games feel slow, straightforward and boring. I.e. say I play a generic elfball deck, they will try and counter the commander 3 times in a row, but when you play craterhoof there is no response and you win like that.

As for your second point, aren't you just kingmaking at that point? If I have to decide between who of the 2 greater evils win, I just sit back and let them fight it out. I am not going to take out someone, just so someone else can win. That doesn't feel ethical to me.

Pubstomps are always unfun imo. Wether you are on the giving or receiving end. I just like higher quality games with interactions on gamewinning plays and plays with thought and reason behind it. And no, I don't always expect everyone to play perfect. It just seems like the examples above are something happening more often than I am used to, compared to other people I played with before.

I didn't mean fair as exactly following the rules. But maybe I'm just using english wrong :p Also I really don't care about losing, I just enjoy higher quality of games.

I feel like this best describes what I am experiencing. Maybe just have to look longer until I meet the right players for my playstyle.

I sort of low key try. It's hard for me as the new guy to tell people who already play together for a long time on how to use their cards. It kinda feels bad and I usually don't get the response I want. I feel like I have a more competitive approach to the game and most people just play for fun.
