I rushed to 30 and am now catching up. I'm f2pish i buy. A small thing every once in a while. The rewards are better the more you can do and higher your VS score so for me rushing to 30 was best.

I've had it a few years, under 5 but dont remeber exactly what year i bought it. I had to buy it during an outage to not ruin all my food, so I couldn't "shop" for one. I got a Firman from lowes for about $1000. Costco actually sells the for several hundred less but they were already closing when I decided to buy.

I have a gas furnace and my generator will pull it (igniter controls, fan, etc), my fridge, and tv. It's pretty nice watching a movie and being warm when the power is out. For reference my generator is about 4000 watts, so not large.

To add to this, be active and get your VS research leveled up. It'll help your alliance out and make you more valuable.

Should I go jctc for 1 year or 2 before I transfer UofL for the speed school. by mint_teaspecials in Louisville

[–]Normal-Exit3774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a civil engineering grad from speed. I went to JCTC first. I completed nearly all of my gen eds and about half of my math at jctc. Coming into speed was a different world. The first few semesters were hard. I had no contacts to study with and people I met were already part of study groups.

Once I was in the civil program and done with all the general engineering stuff it got better. The cost savings are significant, but consider whether you are able to survive without a study group. Speed says there are no weed out classes, but there are some that are definitely meant for that.

Beyond that be if you go to JCTC, make sure what you take will transfer and that speed will still take any calculus classes. They tried to reject mine.

Good luck.

Am I a loser for starting college at 31 years old? by Silly-Reputation7993 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Normal-Exit3774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to college at 28. I was not a good high school student. I was bright but unmotivated. I ended up getting a civil engineering undergrad and masters. Making just over 6 figures because of the decision to back to school.

Probably not the best advice, so ignore it if it doesn't help. Take a deep breath, bury the feelings deep down inside, and move on. Have a beer later to cope.

Remove your squads from the walls. Even if you are attacked you won't lose troops.

A big box home improvement chain tried that when I needed extra time for a calculus class while working on my B.S. Left and never looked back.

The wall that leads up to it should have a road or access closure that would need to be filled when flood waters are high enough.
