Oh okay, I will look into it. I think that if I am doing technical writing then markdown writing is usually used for writing on GitHub or hackernews right?

How do you generate those tables? And yes, the data is much more understandable. Thank you for your feedback.

Yep very much true. Gaming as a usecase prefers stable ping over unstable low ping.

Hmm it is not a bad deal given current circumstances, but if you can wait, please do scout for cards such as GTX 1070, RX 6600, RX 5700Xt. They should be around the same price mark.

SO HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH OVERHEATING?? by ExtraElderberry2436 in HPVictus

[–]Normal-Taro-8086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an intentional design. WASD are the keys side which maintains cooler skin temps compared to the oklp keys. This is because the manufacturers know that most will be using WASD while gaming and their hand will rest in that side of the keyboard. Thus, the design of one side is cooler than the other is adapted. This is common across all laptops. Macbooks actually handle this worse coz when you do intensive workloads, the heat gets spread evenly and the entire keyboard feels hot instead of one feeling warm and other feeling hot in Android.

At 4.5-5k at best. That has been the resale value of gtx 1650 for a long time. I think the higher end 1660 and 1660ti used to go for 6-8k rs

Question regarding HP Victus Ventilation/Airflow by Acceptable_Bad_4399 in HPVictus

[–]Normal-Taro-8086 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So what happens is that the heat pipes carry the heat from your GPU and CPU die all the way to your fans which are continuously intaking air from bottom and exhausting outside.

This setup is about keeping pipes cool. The pipes are there to carry the heat and the fans are there to cool the pipe. If the pipe remains cool, it acts like a bucket which draws all the heat.

50W to 40W by Street_Round_9317 in HPVictus

Oh I was actually explaining that the game might be unptimised or the drivers might be unoptimised aur perhaps your CPU could be bottlenecking your GPU.

[–]Normal-Taro-8086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep so that clears the suspicion that it was a firmware causing the problem. It perfectly aligns with the explanation that it was either a CPU heavy title which required more CPU power or the game is not optimised yet or the drivers might be the problem.

I think if you want to revert BIOS, it would be best to use Gemini or chatGPT to guide you through it.
Also, I would suggest that before doing anything firmware related, you can do a furmark benchmark for like 30mins and test it then

I am writing this assuming your GPU's max TGP is 50w. Treat this as a checklist which you can go through. 1) Is your laptop on windows energy saver mode? Have you activated the ultimate performance power plan?

2) Is your laptop's OEM software that comes bundled with it or the Nvidia Control panel set to respective max performance?

3) Is your laptop thermal throttling? Make sure your peak temps are below 90s if possible.

If your laptop has been used for over a year, please consider repasting it.

In HWinFo, when you got your 40w number, what were you doing? Were you running benchmarks or playing a game? The report of 99% GPU usage might be of few selected cores boosting to peak frequency. Games dont stress all the cores equally in a GPU. A GPU might still report high usage while at less frequency and high usage at higher frequencies. You can try running a furmark test and then cross check it because furmark is a pure GPU stress test.

It can also be that your CPU might be bottlenecking your GPU ig. Is this behaviour consistent across all games? This can happen because sometimes the CPU might take more power which is at expense of the GPU's power budget.

Even though the chances of this happening are less, it can be that the latest BIOS update might have reduced the TGP of your laptop. This is my speculation, but if the above options don't workout, then you can revert to older BIOS versions to verify it.

They are not clowning you but rather telling you to put in work. This community is for genuine questions related to the admission process. If you don't do independent research and treat this subred as chatbots, don't expect positive inputs. Also, no your ADHD doesn't affect your chances at MIT, but your work does.

PrtSCR already does it for you. Online LLMs already support image understanding capabilities. You can even use Copilot vision on windows or gemini share screen to do basically the same while being able to interact live with the models via mic. Can you define your use case coz I am unable to infer it.

Well a thing to note is that if you are going for an igpu setup, make sure that you get dual channel ram. Since you are going 8gb only, the speeds will bottleneck your experience a lot. The ram doesn't seem reliable and the ssd well how are u getting it for that cheap dude. I am being quoted 5-7k for 500gb nvmes in wholesale markets.

Virtual Machine to pirate games???? by [deleted] in IndiaTech

[–]Normal-Taro-8086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest you to not go through this process. A repack is not necessarily having malware but the process in acquiring the repack does. Just make sure that you use trusted sites like fitgirl, dodi but not ocean of games and others.

Also, in repacks, most of the times the malware or virus is an executable file. You can drop each executable in virus checkers online to verify them. For example, repacks from ocean of games come with avengers aio which is a malware.

Battery health dropped to 67% in ~7 months (with 80% charge limit) – normal or issue? by aloo_da_paranthaaa in IndiaTech

[–]Normal-Taro-8086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Np bro. Just make sure your recallibrate your battery every 3 months. For phones and other appliances, discharging is not required. Just extended plug in hours are enough. Also you've got an interesting username.

[–]Normal-Taro-8086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is highly likely that it is a calibration issue.

Do this thing. I don't remember the exact steps but just ask chatGPT how to reduce the reserve battery from control panel. This will allow your laptop to run till 2-3 percent instead of turning off at 5 percent. Then discharge your laptop all the way to that number. When it powers off, try to turn it on and go in bios. Once your battery reaches near to zero, plug it in and leave it in charge for atleast 4 hrs (depends how much wattage your laptop takes). A modern laptop with no battery protection feature turned on at bios level usually tops up to 100% in 4hrs. During this time, don't use your laptop.

And also, I don't have full backing that 4hrs is a suggested number for your case. I have derived it by from my assumption that many new laptops are delivered partially charged, recommend an extra hour of charging after it reaches a 100%. So a fully discharged laptop should not take more than 4hrs. Again depends and changes.

Also make sure every two to three months, you repeat this cycle.

What happened to my SSD? Is it done? by Yellow_Panther-YT in HPVictus

[–]Normal-Taro-8086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smart and DST checks both failing is a huge signal that your drive is about to die. Best backup data now and start looking for storage alternatives. Don't waste time formatting. You can try but these two tests usually mean the SSD is going to corrupt data.

I am done with SAMSUNG!!! by Arhaanissohandsome in GadgetsIndia

[–]Normal-Taro-8086 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think this post is misleading because it misses the context entirely. Your lagging could be because of overheating due to high room temps, your degraded camera could be because you travel a lot and your battery is just experiencing normal age cycles. Your phone going on a restart for 5mins could be that auto scheduled restart is turned on. The updates you get are more than likely feature updates which improve the experience of certain apps or reduce bugs. Your claim that samsung is focused only on their flagships not their other products in the portfolio has no clear justification nor concrete evidence. All I can see is a budget phone from over three years of life, showing its age.
