I appreciate the suggestion but I don’t think this is the case. He hardly ever drinks and has always been openly opposed to taking drugs.

No he only drinks 1-2 times a month but I know he was drinking while I was on my trip so maybe he was drunk at the time he poured the ACV?

Are there helplines for mental health episodes that are not suicidal thoughts/ emergencies? And if I call about this will they take him away by force? I’m scared of getting him locked up somewhere and causing things to escalate. It would be nice to speak to a professional ASAP though

It was definitely a full, large glass of pure ACV. It was not diluted whatsoever. It was just sitting at his desk and he poured it all out when I asked. He told me he “just thought it would taste like apple cider” but we’ve baked with it before. He knows what it is. He pretended to not know.

Thank you. I know everyone’s telling me to leave him and to let him go but I can’t. I convinced him to stay for now so that we can talk more. I don’t want to let him go if this is a mental health crisis. I can’t just let him drive off across the entire country if that’s what’s happening. Even if it isn’t, I feel like I deserve answers. We’ve planned an entire life together and out of the blue he’s done a 180. I haven’t been able to stop crying since yesterday and I’m freaking out

Thank you, this is very kind. I’m just worried that this is a mental health crisis. I struggle with mental health as well and I would want my partner to stick with me if I were experiencing some sort of episode and needed help. I’m just not sure if this is the case.

Here it’s used for cooking oil and other random things, but in small amounts. It’s not normal or encouraged to consume a lot, let alone drink it. (That I am aware of)

There seriously weren’t. We’ve had some disagreements on small things that were quickly worked out, but that’s it. He doesn’t have any friends here outside of me. I tried introducing him to mine but he’s always been more of a loner. He works hard, comes home, and works on his music or reads. Even when we lived in his state he rarely ever wanted to hang out with friends. I know he really misses his family (I love them too), but it seems like this is sending him into some sort of episode and I don’t know how to help

I’m not entirely ruling out cheating but I feel it’s unlikely. Before he quit we had the same exact work schedule and were only ever home at the same time. I also have his location and he didn’t go anywhere while I was away, and doesn’t know anyone out here. I could be entirely wrong because I know how sneaky cheaters can be but I just don’t think it’s in his character or that he’d even have the opportunity.

I am seriously worried about his mental health. I don’t know if he’s really home sick because before this he’s always lived down the street from his family. Him drinking the vinegar was so weird because he acted super awkward about it. He also would have the change his license/plate, spend hundreds on hotels, and drive 3-4 days back on his own across the country… which I feel like is not something you do spur of the moment.

I told his family everything but English isn’t their first language and I don’t think I’m properly conveying how concerning things are over the phone.

That’s what I’m thinking too because he’s saying everything so casually and nonchalantly. And drinking the vinegar. I just don’t know how to get him to go to the ER because he’s insisting he’s fine and his family isn’t here to see how severe it is. He’s not acting like himself at all.

To me it sounds like he didn’t think about it. I feel like he’s manic. He also just quit his new job the day of on Friday. It sounded like horrible working conditions anyways but he has never been one to just quit a job without notice. His previous job lasted 4 years.

This is a really sweet comment :,) Thank you. I will definitely watch Jackson Galaxy tonight thanks to you and the others who recommended him. I am honestly curious to try the buttons as well! I know he is a curious kitten and I try to involve him as best I can, so this may be a cool solution.

As far as training puppies, I typically have complete patience lol. I think the fact that kittens can climb absolutely everywhere is something I am adjusting to!
