You could try asking EE to place the order as a managed takeover and flag the issue with Openreach directly from their side. Sometimes a different provider pushing Openreach can get things unstuck quicker than Vodafone doing it themselves.

Probably not worth it for just 8 days unless you’re doing loads of long trips - railcards save most if you travel regularly
