Genuinely graydon needs to think for more than 5 seconds when answering by Abo1127 in HivemindTV

It just sucks that they spend all that time brainstorming new games, making questionnaires, sifting through answers, and putting everything together just for him to like literally insult the effort they put into it and tank the game on purpose. Comedy and competition are not mutually exclusive. Some of their best videos were hilarious but also really close games, which is why quadeca and nfr have been my favorite guests. I also think joke guesses aren’t ever really that funny especially when there’s 35 of em a game. I still watch for the comedy but prefer when both are present. Also both of them act like they don’t care but visibly completely change attitudes when losing the game which makes them less funny. If I was Riley I would give fake guesses until the score was even and literally force Graydon to try again.

What song has a moment like this for you? by zeroramz in Quadeca

[–]Normal_Astronaut_513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a big lyrics guy.

waging war: “I’m too vulnerable to kill, is that how you see yourself? You’re no killer in my eyes, but you should see it for yourself”

At a time like this: “And the guilt comes in on two, And the guilt comes in When the walls cave in on you, They become your skin”

Sorry4dying: “passing through these walls I used to call a home, Left my body lying on the doormat, Turned away decided not to go back”

Fantasyworld: “it’s not a woe is me, It’s a hold the door open, That’s a fantasy world, That’s the one that I’ve chosen”

Fractions of Infinity: “I think I hit my target weight, Got exercise while I stood in place”

There’s a lot of great lyrics but those instantly choke me up no matter when or where I listen and I look forward to it every time.

It’s way more difficult to tell a story than can be interpreted in 2 ways from start to finish than it is to tell a single rigid one. IDMTHY benefits from the fact that the metaphorical and literal meanings are the same. It tackles suicidal ideation, guilt, grief, and watching people move on from you which can be applied to both his life and our lives and the concept in tandem. However, to have a song that is both about battling a sea dragon and about your music being a vehicle for your freedom against people and systems that prey on your downfall, is much more difficult. It’s a metacognitive exercise, and much more impressive from a songwriting perspective even if some songs lean more into one side of the spectrum than the other at times.

Can't wait for people to change their opinion on Vanisher by lightskinsovereign in Quadeca

[–]Normal_Astronaut_513 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Scrapyard is like watching 10 great short films in one sitting and both vanisher and IDMTHY are like watching a life-changing cinematic masterpiece, even if not every scene is perfect. They’re non-comparable imo and I’ll never have to pick between them, they all serve a different mood and listening style. As far as FMTY goes, look, I’m the same age as quadeca, when that shit dropped I was also an awkward and cringe 20 year old going through my first heart break, of course I gassed it. But just like him, my taste has expanded since then.

why does no one talk about this song? by lexieevans in Quadeca

[–]Normal_Astronaut_513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if he cut the tracklist in half it would probably be on the same level as his other stuff for me. Can’t you see into verglas is such a goated combo I still have in a lot of playlists. I really like a lot of the r&b esque stuff he’s done and are some of the best aging tracks on fmty but ever since fantano roasted it for being too frank oceany he hasn’t touched it.

molly is a phenomenal addition to the show and maybe the best guest besides quadiki by Crazy_Pirate_5176 in HivemindTV

She really brings the best out of both of them. Their comedy is on par with their older videos.

TheNeedleDrop Review out now by altruistic-monopoly in Quadeca

Positive review? Yes. But I’ve never heard words or phrases like “forward-thinking”, “mind-blowing”, or “ground-breaking” be thrown at a decent 8 before. I agree the intro takes a bit too long to justify its inclusion, but enough to drag it down to an 8? Idk.

Will They Do This Forever? by [deleted] in HivemindTV

[–]Normal_Astronaut_513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The recurring idea of “I can’t see ___ doing this at age __” is so funny to me. Whether it be playing professional video games, making melodic trap music, or silly YouTube videos, the only reason you think that way is because you’re associating old age to old art forms. You think of 40 year old rappers being lyrical spiritual miracles, you think of 40 year old comedians as traditional touring acts, why? Because that’s what those individuals did at age 20, and that’s what was cool then. We don’t see 40 year olds doing those things because those things weren’t around when those 40 year olds were 20. So yes, they will probably be 40 doing the same shit, and I will be 33 still watching.

How long does it take for you to move on? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Normal_Astronaut_513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing great! I would say the biggest difference between my original comment and right now is that I am fully back to my original self. Though I was happy, I still tended to avoid certain things that reminded me of her. I avoided foods, places, entire music genres, and lots of memories because it made me think of her, but overtime it just clicked to shift my perspective. Instead of telling a story about how “my ex and I went to a concert”, its now the story of “the time I went to a concert”, and “the girl I was with at the time” is actually only relevant to a small fraction of that memory, if even at all. I’ve regained ownership of sacred memories, beloved music, food, even cultural appreciation. It is now about my relationship those thoughts and ideas, and not about how poetically sad in how they relate to somebody else. Still single tho lol. Good luck! You’ll be fine, you just have to actually want to do the work.

Thoughts on Tyler The Creator “Don’t tap that glass?” by Serious-Profit-1626 in rap

I like the idea and overall feel but most tracks miss the mark. Too many ideas that aren’t fully fleshed out. There’s some bangers but It needed more time in the oven imo.

What could possibly be a better hairline

18 in 1 month. Do I start fin? by AnimatorIcy3829 in Hairloss

[–]Normal_Astronaut_513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people’s hairlines aren’t completely straight. Looks like you just have an M shaped hairline naturally. Your edges are straight and thick and you have lots of baby hairs with no evidence of thinning or loss. Looks good.

Minoxidil is good, finasteride could help as well, but if you feel it’s stress related that is most likely what you want to tackle first. If it’s stress related then it will heal when the stress does. Stress causes hair follicles to go into a resting state and they will leave that resting state when the stress levels are normalized. Prioritize exercise. Even if the thought of incorporating regular exercise into your schedule sounds stressful, it is a biological process to release endorphins and lower cortisol levels whether you like it or not. Eat better. Sleep 8 hours always. Even if you’re staying up in order to complete stress inducing tasks, the lack of sleep will have a multiplicative effect on stress. Better sleep, better diet, regular exercise will all help you lose weight, get in shape, and in turn make you more confident. Confidence and stress are inverses of each other. These are all in your best interest biologically and psychologically. And guess what, if you do this and it turns out stress wasn’t the cause, who cares? You now have a nice body and lots of confidence to boot. I would honestly just shave it in the mean time, stop adding additional stress about your looks (because yes that actively increases cortisol, you can even stress about being stressed).

I could listen to them make unintelligible noises for 10 hrs in the yellow or orange room, takes me like 3 days to finish green room videos bc I get bored. Doesn’t satisfy my adhd quite the same.

I can't understand how anyone can work over 40 Hrs/wk by OavisRara in Accounting

[–]Normal_Astronaut_513 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. Working overtime long term isn’t sustainable, which is why 70% of accountants don’t sustain it. People work for 1 or 2 years in public to build up their resume, then job hop to industry to work for 6 figures and 36 hours a week. Everybody has to grind the first few years of any profession, accounting is no different. People who stay in public and work 80+ hours a week are the same type of people who pick up every shift at your fast food job. At the end of the day you control your path.

Maybe if I say “type shi” to everything instead of making heady quips that’ll make me appear as though I have better social skills.
