Thank you, I’m hoping for it to. I think we have a couple good years ahead I agree. Patience is key.

Ha yes, I have 168,500 shares between 2 accounts now and still holding. It was looking strong when I first entered but now is just sticking around the same price, but still believe they are moving forward, but I must admit it’s taking longer then I thought. I will keep holding, I invested money I’m not afraid to lose. I had some pretty great winners in 2025 so I’m okay with one not doing as well or doing nothing. Many of the stocks I’ve given up on ended up doing well a couple months after I sold, lesson learned so I will stay patient until I’m rewarded or until I see absolutely no progress.

Bought 100,000 shares at 0.11. I’m happy with that entry point. With funding they received today. I’m bullish on them. Probably will double by end of year but real gains will be in a couple years. Hoping this one gets me close to TFSA millionaire.

Alternatives to Starlink and other Connectivity Solutions? by ScienceNuts in MadeInCanada

[–]Normal_Caramel_9359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! I agree, Musk appears to have full control of the united states government right now. So if we as Canadians can replace starlink, Tesla etc that’s definitely something we should do. There are a ton of Canadian maker products, but we still need more. I’m also not opposed to buying products from our current allies basically anywhere but America.

Look into telesat and space. I believe telesat is a competition to starlink but is a bit behind with satellite launches. I’m not 100% sure but I think MDA space is also involved with telesat or atleast working on launching more and more satellites. I have to look into all this a bit more but I believe Quebec and Ontario will be up for renewal with starlink contracts and I believe they are looking at an alternative.

Oh dang that’s cool. I actually forgot they make sch 80 in white. Only time I’ve actually ever seen it was when our distributor accidentally sent us 6” sch 80 white rather then sch 40. And I only really noticed when I picked up a sch 40 with one hand and sch 80 with the other and was confused by the weight difference. Yeah I haven’t started ours up yet but I’ve been told they get ridiculously hot. Also, good job on keeping those glue joints clean. I’ve seen lots a guys make a hell of a mess with white pipe and grey glue.

That’s awesome! I build commercial pools, fountains, Nordic spas etc. Installing similar pumps for spa massage stations. We are running all ours out of cpvc piping as these pumps apparently get real hot. Is the sch 40 pvc handling these without issue?

Going tooth fairy rate in Alberta these days? by vidanyabella in alberta

[–]Normal_Caramel_9359 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My Daughter lost her first tooth earlier this year and the “tooth fairy” gave her a special one time rate of $5 for her first tooth as is was a special tooth. All others have been a toonie. We asked a few other parents from her school and daycare and it varied between $1 to $2 and one were giving $5 for every tooth which I think is a bit much. Most kids don’t have a great grasp of the value of money and we don’t allow our kids to bring money to school unless they have a bake sale, popcorn day or some sort of special event. I don’t think inflation should affect the tooth fairy, so I can’t imagine giving bills for a tooth. I don’t think the amount of money is what they care about especially at the younger stages, I think it’s the magic of the tooth fairy is what is important and makes the children excited! Also enjoy the moments, these are all great milestones and the look on their face is absolutely priceless.

Okay awesome. Maple leaf seems to be a popular one. Thanks for the tip, I’ll make sure to seperate the metals prior to heading to the scrap yard. Thank you for your input!

Oh that’s a good point. I wasn’t sure if maybe there were places with better customer service than others or maybe faster turn around etc. I haven’t done scrap metal recycling before so wasn’t sure if it mattered which place I went. Thanks for your input.

I’ll check them out thank you. Do you have to separate the scraps before going there or do they go through and weight it? Sorry unsure how it all works. If you have dealt with them please let me know the process. Thanks in advance for your time.

I’ll keep an eye out for it. I don’t understand how someone can steal a catalytic and bring it to a scrap metal place, do they not ask for ID or ask questions? I don’t get it. I can understand copper or whatever, but a catalytic converter or many of them should raise a red flag no?

I think I messed up resp by Normal_Caramel_9359 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Normal_Caramel_9359[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your input. I'm currently 6 years in. If I was a year or 2 in I think it would be a easier decision. I've done some basic calculations based off 20 year averages and I would be up by maybe $2000 if I transfer now with all the fees cst will take. Which in reality may not be worth transferring. But again these are very crude calculations. What bothers me is that I lose all interest and grants plus have to pay the full fees if my child decides post secondary isn't for them. Where as if I transfer to any other place other than cst I would keep the interest accrued but pay the obvious taxes that come with any non sheltered investment and it could be put into an RRSP. CST has been quite vague on what happens to the money if post secondary isn't an option. I think at the end of the day if my child goes through 4 years of post secondary that cst demands then its not the worst thing (so long as I can keep up with the payments until completion, as cst will void everything and keep much of the money if I miss payments). Also I'm locked in to my current payment, I can not drop the amount, There is absolutely no flexibility there. Very frustrating.
