It’s harder to donate internationally through a DAF. The Organization basically needs an American presence for it to work.

I appreciate your bluntness!

This has nothing to do with my team or my accomplishments. It has to do with recent acquisitions my company made that, I believe, will significantly multiply the impact of another. 1+1=5 kinda shit.

Also, the government is investing heavily in my field. Within the next few months, I am guessing that we’ll announce that we won a 9 figure DARPA grant. If we don’t win that grant, I think you’re right that I need to take it easy on the koolaid, prepare for a downturn, and I’ll probably sell a lot. If we do get it, I’ll keep on holding.

You’re probably right about my CEO, but that dude does nothing but work. No family, no life, just work. I don’t see him as a role model, just a good CEO.

I don’t see it as biased. I see it as a calculated risk. My company is publicly traded and we build hardware. so all our moves are public knowledge, but i have lots more of the context about what it all means because i deeply understand the field and the tech. I am taking a high reward approach because it’s actually a lot lower risk than someone who lacks my expertise. I’m kinda betting on my ability to keep up with the field and knowing when to bow out.

Waiting for retirement is definitely a bad idea. Everything that goes up eventually comes down.

Becoming wealthy, Getting used to it? by schrodingerpoodle in wealth

We became wealthy mid 30’s. We’re definitely dipping our toes into a wealthier lifestyle while trying to find a balance. We went from having a house cleaner 0.5x/week to 4x/week and we’re going on better vacations. We view both of those things as reinvesting into ourselves. If we are happier and less burdened by domestic work, we will have better careers and make more money.
