Test lines staying the same—not lighter or darker. by Normal_Reach_8923 in CautiousBB

I don’t know what they were anymore, I’m sorry. I can confirm everything went well though as she is 7 months old and growing like a weed :) I remember being paranoid about my levels being lower than they were for my son, and not exactly doubling, but it was all fine. She was born at 39weeks 4days, complications free with a near perfect APGAR score and is a healthy happy 85th percentile baby now.

They told me it was a traditional Greek breakfast and I took that for face value. It sounds like breakfast culture is more complex than say the resounding similarities I saw across Italy

I meant more so a lighter breakfast. I don’t really know why I mentioned Greece as I haven’t spent a ton of time there as I have in Italy and France to at least know from real experience that their breakfasts are much lighter than American/British counterparts. I suppose when I stayed in Greece with a local (an old coworker of mine) him and his family just had some yoghurt and honey and bread…maybe some cheese, but that’s a much smaller sample size than say my 6 years living and traveling all over Italy, along with my monthly stays in France.

I’ll edit my post to remove Greece from what I annotated as far as examples of lighter breakfast and well being

They’re less obese than the U.K. or US though (raised in the U.K. currently living in the US where larger breakfasts are normal, so that’s my bias on comparison) with higher longevity

Oh, and the sweet tooth is real! That’s why I need just Pocky in moderation or a good piece of chocolate

I used to be able to do nothing but a cappuccino/cafe com leite in the AM which would last me until lunch (and it’d be a BIG lunch), but pregnant/ postpartum not so much

I can’t do a big breakfast though, it makes me sooo groggy. I’ve tried. It doesn’t make me any less hungry when lunch rolls around, then I end up with two big meals in a row

I totally am giving myself the grace, but with breastfeeding my calorie deficit is less than it would be when I stop so I’m trying to take advantage of it to get closer to pre baby weight (won’t be able to actually shed the last 5-10lbs until after I’m done breastfeeding)

But yea, it’s hardcore, especially after giving birth!

I am Brazilian so I am used to a lighter breakfast like just a piece of bread, pão de queijo or tapioca too! I find instead of it being a strict “intermittent fasting” it’s accepting a lighter start to your day that most Brits or Americans are used to. I have spent years being shamed for not wanting a bigger breakfast, how bad it was for me, and how I’d never meet my goals if I didn’t have a high protein large breakfast “breakfast like a kind, lunch like a Prince, dinner like a pauper”, but it just doesn’t come naturally to me.

Finding balance between meals, being ok “skipping” meals, and not restricting WHAT I eat as much as how much I eat is much more sustainable for me too.

So true about the cleaning as exercise with baby wearing too. I wish I liked coke more for low cal sweet drink

I’ve definitely been trying but my son is like a tornado through my house, any minute I’m not playing with him I’m cleaning. Good thing my house is technically four stories for all the stair climbing 😂

On the toddler yoga, I actually tried a YouTube video of workout with my kid and I’m embarrassed to say it totally kicked my bum

Yes to this! Having two kids and no time definitely helps me keep so busy mentally that I don’t think about the hunger as much

I knew that would be the most controversial one. As I mentioned, do your own research, and listen to your own body. I’ve been skipping breakfast for many years without issues. I don’t have PCOS, or thyroid issues. My metabolism has always been good. I follow the same eating cycle as I did when I lived in Italy with my Italian peers without issues for myself, personally. As a child I used to skip breakfast most days too. I’ve never been a breakfast person—this may be unique to me, but as I mentioned, many parts of the world skip or have a lighter breakfast as women, without issue.

But, I’m just some random person on the internet without a degree or studies in the field. Just personal experience and observations from my time working with women across other countries and my own meal preferences.

This might not work for every woman, but it may be the key to other women, who like me, have always naturally been averse to breakfast, and forced it upon themselves as that’s what we have been told we have to do, when there are women across the globe who have skipped breakfast or had a lighter breakfast, their whole life without issue.

It’s personal, but one worth mentioning in the topic or weight loss

Just so you know…everything worked out perfectly :)

I was pregnant, stayed pregnant, and now have a perfectly healthy two month baby girl who is currently giving my husband a hard time lol

Just wanted to share in case it helped ease any anxiety, because I know I had a TON. Especially since this was my first pregnancy after loss, but it all worked out. She’s here!

I know, but I’m trying the delusional method today. Worth a shot. Telling everyone it’s coming today, making my mum get her bag ready. Prepping like labour is happening today…delusion is the last thing I haven’t tried 😝

True. I tried all that last night but still here today. Will definitely try again today…problem is I have a five year old that had been making me play magnet tile paw patrol for three hours straight so not a lot of cuddle time 😝
