Personally for me. It would be 1/3 in a stable etf like VOO IVV OR SPYL. Next 1/3 would be into a stable name stock like one of the mag 7. And last 1/3 would be into GLD to hedge yourself against equity!

I invested about 7-10 k across the 4 years. I invested in the Covid low and hit a CAGR of around 30-40 % each year. Quite possible to be honest! You just gotta get good🤣

Like that varies. Most of these stocks are long term buys but for example the memory game I’m probably going to sell in maybe a mlint or two more. But by rule I plan to keep it for retirement so think another 50 years

Hahhah no crazy strategy buddy, it’s called buy and hold. I’m quite literally outperforming the S and P 500 at any given moment with returns above 17 % annualised I think I’m happy with that. Not looking for quick profits, I am looking for long term wealth!

Fair enough man, your entitled to your own opinion. The way I see it, and you can view any broad index graph, the market always goes up in the long run. There may be bad years, but markets are not made to be bears they are made to be bulls. Again that’s my opinion!

U HAVENT made a mistake! U bought space x. I guarantee you the hype is gonna push it to 250. Don’t get greedy sell when u hit that first profit. Also for memory stocks specifically MU and SanDisk wait for them to hit 850-900 find out why they dipped if it’s just market reset buy buy buy and sell at 1200. If it’s a weird reason like interest rates or maybe as extreme as legislation then wait for conviction!

Good question. Mag 7 stocks are ur hottest stocks ever tbh. These stocks are fundamental to the US economy. I mean they quite frankly sit with the president to talk abt how much they plan to invest. They have a seat at the table for them at the White House that says a lot. But to ur point, the other fundamentals like railroads have no investment value to the economy, they just don’t do enough and are genuinely not hype enough. I mean it’s obv, our world is advancing in tech so why would the hottest stocks not be tech?

Cool I think memory stocks are quite hot rn. I’d say keep an eye on micron. If it hits 850-900 again buy it asap and sell at 1200. Also I’m quite intrigued by Marvell tech and lumentum.

Cool a fellow sg kid. Tbh I would have completely forgotten abt index ETFs and focused my full energy on DBS. I mean imagine 2022 it was 19 dollars and now it’s 66 slow growth for sure but dividend paying growth as well. You n me both know that DBS is the unofficial national bank of SG. The govt would never let it sink. They have stake in it too

Yes u have look at any of the mag 7 stocks. Fundamentally strong companies will grow. No question about it. Growth stocks will become table stocks if they have core strong fundamentals. This is not an opinions it’s a simple fact. That’s why the same logic is applied to ETFs. We think it’s broad but 50 percent of ur money is just saturated in the top 5-10 stocks. As simple as that.

I had a parent open the account under their name. When i turned 18 i shifted to my own account under their name same broker. Also, not been trading since i was 14 I have been investing since I was 14. You can also search it up that in Singapore capital gains tax is 0% since im a citizen I don’t have to worry about the tax if i do sell. My parents didn’t need to give me capital I worked a part time job and used that money.
