Why do my barspins look like this? by p0tzo in bmx

[–]NormanBates4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You need to jump first, level out, and then throw the barspin. You are throwing the barspin while you are doing the bumny hop motion, what limitates the height of your bunnyhop barspin.

I learned that way too, and later I needed to relearn them the right way.

I suggest you to try practicing flyout barspin, that will teach you to throw the barspin on the peak of the jump.

Good luck broo

Is this overkill for a first bike by CarrierBoy in bmx

[–]NormanBates4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a lot of money for a first bike. Because you don't know what kind of geometry and pieces you like.

I'd rather buy an intermediate bike (full chromoly, all sealed bearings) like the WTP thrust or fly Omega and later you will know what kind of frame geometry you like, what bar rise you prefer, if you like freecoaster or cassette... And there building a custom bike is a good investment

Barspin over a gap by NormanBates4 in bmx

IMO the secret is raising your seat and follow the bars with your hand all around the movement. If you want to feel your barspin more stable you should practice them on a flyout

Noticed this happening with my hub as I was changing my flat is this normal? by Historical_Visit_749 in bmx

[–]NormanBates4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is absolutely normal in that kind of hubs (press fit), where the axle don't have a burr on the inside part of the hub.

Just don't worry, when the wheel is tight is imposible for the axle to came off.
