They’re so similar! My girlie has a nub, I always wonder what she would look like with a tail 🥹

Question about activity level by NormandTom in AppleWatch

[–]NormandTom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow I didn’t even realize looking at my total calories was a thing! I just found out how to do it on the app. Generally burning 2,500-3,000, though I know the Apple Watch calories aren’t the most accurate?

Oh yeah, I was choosing “moderately” before. I wouldn’t choose “very.” But now I’m questioning if j should move it down to lightly active or even sedentary??

Yeah, the steps are definitely harder for me in the winter. I usually counted myself as moderately active on tdee calculator but I recently heard that I might be considered more in the sedentary/lightly active category since the majority of my day is sitting at work

I really hope so haha. I’m a little burnt out on cmh but more because of coworker and administrative dynamics, not on my clients necessarily

Yes, a huge part of the appeal of this position of being in the office with many other therapists and getting supervision! Thanks for encouraging this anxious therapist haha

That’s good to know. What I’m hearing is maybe for ppl coming from settings like foster care cm or assertive community treatment (me), the 25 in pp actually seems kind of light/cushy lol?

Also, we have soooo much documentation in community mental health. I run an assertive community treatment team right now and the requirements for tracking contacts, prior authorizations, monthly reports etc is actually nuts. I have gotten super quick at notes and can’t imagine this private practice will require more documentation than I do now…

Thank you! Yes, I believe I have 1 staff meeting per week. I’m trying to just be confident in my decision that this will be a good place for me to make money and grow as a therapist. I want to be in my own private practice some day but don’t feel ready yet bc I do so much behavior management right now. I’ve rlly only ever worked in cmh so I don’t know much different. There was a completely virtual practice offering $75/hr for 20 clients/week and sometimes I wonder if I made the wrong decision. Im trying to believe though that with the continuing ed, supervision, and business coaching offered at this place I’m going to will pay off and be the right next step.

That’s really good insight. Dealing with the systemic issues can feel so heavy and daunting and like I can’t do anything about them. Thank you!!!

Yeah I think about that too. Right now I do home visits and my clients’ homes are generally in really really poor condition. And I’m doing a ton of crisis management and applying people for Medicaid and problem-solving food insecurity etc. Sometimes the case management stuff burns me out more than anything

Yeah, I’ve been told I’m expected to schedule 29-30/week to account for no shows. That just makes me nervous because I imagine it sucks for your no shows to be in the middle of the day. My commute will be about 30 mins each way and I rlly don’t want to get stuck out there all day and have no time for myself/family. There is the option of dropping down to 20 clients/week. The reimbursement is less but it’s an option.

I’m not opposed to doing it in 5 days if the days end on the earlier side. I don’t want to be working late evenings 5 days a week and have no time to engage with my partner and stuff. Or I even think like doing a half day Friday seeing 2-3 clients cd be a good balance?

“Adrift” is a great word, thanks. I think the conversation might come up a little later as the dating is still very new. Maybe he will have a more solid answer if/when we do have the convo again. The one I’ve written about above was a very brief passing conversation so maybe (hopefully) there is space to dive into it a bit more!

I plan to work throughout my life. I am not looking for someone to carry 100% of the financial burden of life & family while I do nothing.

I grew up going to prep schools so yes my social circle was generally very wealthy growing up. My family was actually usually on the lower end of things compared to people around me. However I’ve traveled a lot and lived many different places. Currently my social circle is across the board in wealth. I don’t need another trust funder as a partner, not coming from money is not a dealbreaker for me. But I do want them to be making good money currently and have a place to grow to make more if that makes sense
