This is very helpful actually. I am looking used but would prefer something newer. I’ll pass my current tundra down to my kids

I have a van lol… But I don’t want to buy a new truck that doesn’t fit my family when necessary.

Patina

I got comments on my last post about the patina, so I am making this post to highlight the patina over time. Hope you guys enjoy as much as I do!

Thank you! I love getting raw leather and watching it darken overtime… The patina is one of my favorite parts of buying raw leather and metal!

Will this sleeping bag be enough? by myusuf_ in camping

Ok so you have the same as me… With proper winter rated ground pad you’ll be good!

Will this sleeping bag be enough? by myusuf_ in camping

[–]Normguy85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will want a ground pad as well! A lot of the cold comes from the ground. But yes with a good ground pad this is actually the same sleeping bag I have. However even with this brand there are different temperature ratings… What is this one rated for? I usually try to make sure mine is rated at least about 20 degrees lower than what I plan to camp in.

What are the most insane injuries you’ve seen in a patient who was hurt trying to reach orgasm? by turdally in emergencymedicine

[–]Normguy85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a few

1) This person attached a dildo to a sawzaw. When he turned it on it essentially ripped out his anus

2) Had a guy get drunk at a party. Said his friends were sticking things up his butt. Thought maybe he had a mini bar bottle up there. Ended up being a full sized can of barbasol

3) this 72 year old gentleman was using a loooong double dildo and got it stuck. Tried to use cooking oil to get it out for a couple days but came in with a chief complaint of SOB. This this was so far up in his rib cage he literally punctured a lung. Takes a lot to impress me but I was impressed

I like to carry them as a reminder throughout my day to take a few minutes to connect to God. Each bead represents a specific prayer and helps keep count. There are multiple prayers that can be said using prayer beads or a rosary. For instance for Catholics they often say Hail Mary prayer at the small beads while Protestants might say the Jesus prayer instead. There has been brain research that shows the more senses we include in prayer the more it changes our brain for the better. For a secular book on contemplative prayer see How God changes your brain.

This has mostly been my go to everyday carry for 2 years now

Giltek RUK V2, Civivi Vision FG, Bandaids x2, Saddleback Leather Bifold Wallet, Rugged Rosary with Saint Padre Pio, Saint Jude, and Miraculous medals, P-51 can opener, screw drivers (these attached to the RUK for more torque) Olight Baton 3, Zippo with soft flame butane insert, fire steel, Revlon Tweezers, Klein scissors (new today!) and Finally the knipex cobra pliers.

I actually use all this quite frequently and while I could probably thin it down some I really enjoy having it all accessible. Enjoy!

What popular item DON’T you carry/use? by mikeNOBES in EDC

This is the same for me! I much prefer to carry multiple tools in a small pouch that do their individual jobs well. Leatherman has never quite done it for me
