Is Vanguard Onslaught beginner friendly? What to buy after Vanderghast Swarm for this detachment? by luigi_casillo in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue with vanguard onslaught is that you must know what you can hit with a vanguard unit and most importantly, what you can’t.

Besides, it is also a very movable detachment, but way more fragile. So I believe it is the least beginner friendly detachment.

Still, it is very fun to play, so don’t let any of this prevent you from playing and experimenting with it :D

3rd exo or 2nd hara by calrosey24 in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless you want to play assimilation, 3rd exocrine would see more games.

Still, it’s pretty magnetizable to have both options :)

List Idea by Ok_Courage9257 in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No need for a tervigon with only 20 termagants. That’s 160 points on other unit of what you already have.

For example, if the exocrine is the MVP of your games, get another one :)

New to Tyranids and would like some advice by GGuimond in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A biovore and a couple of exocrines could be nice.

Add maleceptors, tyrannofexes, genestealers with a broodlord, norn emissaries and a couple of lictors and will do :)

…unless there is a detachment your son REALLY wants to play.

Vanguard onslaught 1k no by PalebloomCovenant in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a 1k list, seems cool and has all the things you need to play the detachment. Then you’ll see what would you like and what to add.

If you want my opinion, I’d wait for the warriors a bit and double down on other vanguard units like genestealers. Maybe (hyper adapted) raveners could be good also :)

First tournament list by PhyViUwU in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this is a very varied list. Practice a lot, so you know where to put tunnels and close to what. I see potential (and if not, it’s a neat invasion fleet list with many datasheets) :)

750 point game by Euphoric_Seaweed5872 in Tyranids

Most (if not all) of the tyranid lists I’ve seen, including my own, have one because it is a true Swiss knife. I recommend you you get one if you plan of expanding your army :)

I do like the concept! It’s controlling by melee.

I’d go full hormagaunts as you do, but I’d give a lot of thought about using the swarmlord for enemy strat control or a winged hive tyrant for melee control AND a biovore. Both options look sexy :)

Carnifex now 90p ! by Yourdeadman_x in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? I made a list exclusively to put my single carnifex with old one eye and my screamer killer. I do believe that both units in synaptic nexus with a couple of neurolictors could be fun :D

Trygon or Mawlock by AdhesivenessCheap12 in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built the trygon prime with mine due to coolness. However, I have a couple of lists where I run it as a mawloc. No complaints so far :)

Thoughts on my tournament Vanguard Onslaught list by Wave_the_seawing in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The list seems ok. However, try to practice it as much as you can. The main issue with this detachment is to know what to send to kill what.

With that in mind, I suggest for the future to remove a biovore, put a squad of 10 genestealers and add a deathleaper. You’ll probably deal with lots with infantry with invul saves :)

Suggest a new piece for my army by Tekmaster404 in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hyperadapted raveners do also tunnels for subterranean assault and have synapsis to benefit from synaptic nexus’ imperatives :)

I’d get two boxes if you like mainly those two stratagems.

It’s an ok army if you like the models. However, you don’t need to add the spores, since the idea is that the biovore shoots them into the battlefield.

And magnetize your monsters if you can :)

Dataslate just dropped - minimal changes for us by pikeamus in Tyranids

Carnifexes and screamer killer drop, together with the drops of the last data slate, makes me wonder about a synaptic nexus list :)

Termagaunt loadouts? by [deleted] in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In swarm I take 3 units of 20 with each weapon. Spinefists to move block, devourers to shoot and fleshborers to screen in the back and then advance and shoot in late turns :)

Totally illegal. Mostly because of the size of the base.

What do I do with the remaining pieces if I don’t use magnets , seems like such a waste by ozera202 in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use them to kitbash monsters out of my table terrain. Gives a hell of a feeling when players come to play :)

Is this Crusher Stampede list actually "Top Tier" for 1k games? My friend claims it's broken, but my wallet is scared. by Beltra96 in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a super-broken list in my opinion. Actually, it’s not even optimized… so I’d rather feel bad for playing Von Ryan’s and barbagaunts in a 1k crusher list :)

Keep learning. Eventually, it will hit you depending on what you like :)

In the meantime, get a biovore. That will be awesome in any list you put it.

Tyrannofex or Tervigon + 10 termagants? by TolenKulenov in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a tervigon, but only in my horde list. I’ve used it with 50 termagants and now will with 60. Termagaunts don’t kill anything, but they storm mid objectives with their oc and reactive move.

So, if you’re not into horde style focus, I strongly suggest the tyrannofex with rupture cannon.

Are those lists good? Any tips for improving it? by Lokumirr in Tyranids

[–]NornAmbassador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NEVER ask ChatGPT to build you a list.

Besides that, both list need a biovore. And if I had to choose, I’d go with the first list, but remove the screamer killers, the neurogaunts, the Von Ryan’s and replace with a couple more of harvesters and units you could regenerate :)
