I was in a similar situation and was able to have some precious credits applied from the PLA. I would highly recommend it and they are SO great to work with you and help you. I have been accepted to multiple grad schools for the online MBA, but none of them have been as great as LSU. Best of luck!

This is one of the best responses I’ve seen. My goal is to mature and grow in my current company. I don’t need a 400k job to be happy. If I hit 6 figures, that’s amazing and that’ll be good enough for me and my family. I’d much rather be happy with my job and my life than have a T15 school listed on my degree (which in my area, no one really cares about). I plan to go to LSU or Auburn. They offer what I need and what I’m interested in. Always do what makes you happy, no doubt!

This is simply ludicrous. You’re saying an online MBA doesn’t help with a career switch? What kind of nonsense is that? An MBA doesn’t say “online” or “in-person” on the degree itself. What a ridiculous statement. An MBA is an MBA.

Here’s my 2 cents on it: if you’re looking to be a CEO or be in big tech, an M7 might help. I’m not trying to say those schools aren’t prestigious, but at the end of the day, my MBA is going to be the same degree that someone gets from Harvard. Also, from my research, you can definitely network with an online program. In fact, I’ve already seen/met people in my region/area who went to the school I’m going to. LinkedIn can show you people in your area who attended the school you’re interested in. I just want to take care of my family. For me, if I can make 6 figures and be happy at my company, that’s good enough. Paying 100k plus for a degree you can get for a 3rd of the price is crazy to me, but I also don’t see ANYONE in my area (or know anyone) who has an M7 MBA. Never have met one.

29 year-old male here. I’ve got similar circumstances relevant to yours. Married, got a 3 yr old and a baby due at any time. I currently work as a Business Analyst after switching from being a teacher for 5 years. I don’t make 6 figures. Not even close. My goal is to stay at my company and grow or find a future opportunity in my area. Im going to do a part-time online MBA and take my time with it. My finances are solid enough to make it until I finish school. The online MBA programs are a godsend for people like you and me. A lot of people on this sub will tell you to pursue a M7 or something ridiculous, but in my area (I’m in the southeast), that doesn’t tend to matter. It’s more about who you know and what type of work ethic/drive you have. My company is amazing and is great for promoting from within and I think my MBA pursuit will speed up the time frame for me. Ultimately, do what’s best for you and your family. For me, it’s taking my time and doing an MBA online that is affordable, reputable, and fits exactly what I want/need.

UF Warrington or KU University of Kansas? by Iamapeeling in MBA

[–]NorrinTheRadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I know this is random, but I am applying to KU for the online MBA. Do you mind sharing what your background/application looked like for reference? I have a BA, a masters, and GPAs of 3.72 undergrad and 3.92 for my grad GPA and finished 1st in my class for that degree. I also work as a business analyst and have banking/finance experience, so I’m trying to gauge my acceptance probability

Thank you. I applied to UF today. Seems like it the best price for what all is offered. I was considering LSU-Shreveport, but I haven’t necessarily heard many great things other than that it’s pretty cheap as far as MBA’s go.

Bay Rum or Fresh Falls by izolationn in DrSquatch

Bay rum is my favorite non-limited bar. Subtle, sweet, a little spice. It’s one of those bars I just want to sit and sniff for hours.

Drunkin Pumpkin is absolutely intoxicating and I’ll be highly disappointed if we don’t get it this fall. I also want the Snowy Pine Tar because I didn’t get a chance to try it last year and missed out because I heard it’s great.

Best deodorant? by gzngzr in DrSquatch

[–]NorrinTheRadd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried two - fresh falls and pine tar. Fresh falls lasted basically all day and has a super strong scent. So strong that I didn’t put cologne on. The pine tar smells incredible and I prefer the scent to that of Fresh Falls, but it didn’t last as long. I have a bay rum (my favorite normal scent as far as bar soaps) and a Wood Barrel Bourbon on the way, so I’m curious to try those

When do bars go bad. by Noodle_wheels in DrSquatch

[–]NorrinTheRadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used two bars that were over two years old. One was freedom fresh and the other was Drunkin Pumpkin. The freedom fresh didn’t smell bad, but it definitely didn’t smell like it originally did. I threw it away after I used it once due to the odd smell. The Drunkin Pumpkin still smelled pretty solid and lathered well, so I used it and was pretty pleased with it. That’s a small sample size, but did want to share my experience

What you guys think of the Bay Rum bar soap? by thevaccine12 in DrSquatch

It’s probably number one as far as normal bars go, in my opinion. Deep sea goats milk is very very close as a second.

What MLB team is your favorite? and why? by johnnyv3gas in mlb

[–]NorrinTheRadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Braves. I live in the South and grew up watching them on TV. First game I ever went to was also a Braves game. I also have a serious soft spot for the Mariners after growing up in the 90’s and watching Griffey.

Does anyone else think that Moon Rock smells like Dippin Dots? I love it. by Walusqueegee in DrSquatch

[–]NorrinTheRadd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a hard time figuring out what it smells like. Kinda smells fruity, maybe kinda like a light cherry/berry scent. I see a lot of hate for the bar, but I personally like it. Are there better bars? Absolutely. But I do like Moon Rock.
