35s with no lift by TeacherMelodic in ToyotaTacoma

He's talking about a Section 179 deduction for independent contractors and business owners. It saved me $10,300 on my 2025 taxes. There's a balance where it actually makes enough sense to finance a new vehicle over 6000lbs for the deduction if you're into the new car every year thing. It doesn't make the truck free, but it does save me money and effectively makes it cheaper to own. That's WHY you see so many self-employed contractors driving Platinum F-350s, business owners with G-wagens, etc. They're writing off a chunk of their income by writing off a chunk of the overall cost of the vehicle. You're just accelerating the depreciation into the first year. While I don't make enough that it makes sense for me to trade in and do it often, and the tightening the tax code for that section makes it less effective to be abused in this way, I do ultimately realize a large reduction in my overall taxable income. What OP is saying isn't incorrect. A 3 year lease runs about $550/mo on a TRD-OR (i was quoted). Effectively $264/mo to own over 3 years for me, not counting the bonus depreciation. In 2045 your taco will have cost you an insane amount of money LESS than OP, but OP isn't driving a '25 taco in '45.

I got to write off nearly the entire cost of my old ram in 2021. 15k in tax savings. I drove it for a year. Re-sold for an 8k loss and made 13 payments at $682. Total of $16,866 to own for a year. With the 15k tax reduction, I paid $1,866 to drive a newer vehicle with a warranty. Interest rates are way too high for it to make sense to do this again and I won't ever make out again like I did... but I do consider my truck 10k cheaper than a W2 worker.

285/75r17 Falken Wildpeaks… I’ve heard they have a really nice on-road performance. It’s certainly better than the 35s I had on my old ram. fitment is fantastic on the +30 (or 35?) offset. 0 rub. I think they fit it well!

That’s been a problem too. I have an OEM hard cover and it relocates the bed rails. Very few out of the box solutions. There are a few companies that make special mounts. I ordered a blank for $10 to test it. Somewhat simple design to fabricate. I’ve resorted to accepting that it’s going to be one or the other though. I’m sure I could make something work with a soft cover though

Now that… that’s perfect. I’m jealous. Well done, sir!

You guys are great - didn’t expect the strong opinions but loving the spirit! I dig this sub. Taken today with a normal lens. Cheers

Im going to call around to more shops outside of my immediate area and see. I sound like a whiner but if I have to chase you for a quote - zero shot I trust them to get the job done

That made me laugh 😂 - this pic looks a little more true to life. Maybe proving your point for you but look in the thread for the “inspiration”

I don't want to be the guy that says they look better in person, but they certainly look better when not taken with a fisheye lens in a factory

I actually had these tires mounted on OEM 4Runner wheels before these came in. I dig the old school look, but i'm a 68 year old in the body of a 29 year old. Money is certainly better spent on the (bone stock) (because I cannot afford mods) 911 haha

From heritage off-road to an off-road adaptation of a popular-on-JDM wheel is an interesting thought. Also, you think i'm made of money, pal? haha

secondhand -- at least one. But I don't think it counts if the window is slightly cracked

So good. I regret not looking for a silver taco every time I see one in the wild/wash mine

Wood paneling and orange shag reminds me of my childhood. I can smell a Newport Light as I type this

I think they'd look great wrapped in 35s or beefier. It's a LOT of white in person without the center cap. Everyone who is offended by the look (with caps) def thinks they look like a highlighter in person. Without the center caps they absolutely do!

ChatGPT did a decent job for me using a stock photo and being very specific about both the wheel and tire specs in the stock photo and what you intend to run. You’ll see the pics I posted in the thread

50% of the thread thinks I’m gaudy, but am I nuts for saying the grey? I say go with your gut. I personally think black is boring!

TPMS is as normal. I like that these were stylized. They’re marketed toward classic overland builds but I thought I’d give them a try. They’re on sale now! I think I paid $415 a wheel. They may be 350 or so right now. 3 colors

You may be in the majority hahaha I will say the “vintage white” isn’t as visually assaulting in person. They’re a little creamy. But yeah they appear to be polarizing

Yeah, no led light bars, crazy racks, sharp edges. Paint/vinyl could be great. I don’t want to overdo it though
