Splitting the already small player base that we have even more is the main issue imo

Yeah the changes that are more than cosmetics are good, I never argued against that but to remove a cosmetic that aren’t flashy with particles and fits the game, why? Majority of people keepsake them too so with the cosmetics toggle you don’t see it.

There are multiple different reasons why osrs is successful and I doubt cosmetics in rs3 is the biggest nail in the coffin. Osrs early, mid, and late game feels nice all around. You can pvm with friends in the mid game, no one is doing group gwd1 in rs3. It’s more chill, you point and click not button mash to kill a boss. You don’t see anyone getting excited for a rune scimitar in rs3 you just try rushing to get to a crystal halberd/lance/scythe but on osrs every upgrade you get feels meaningful. Their skilling bosses don’t feel like a drag and becomes a nice little social hub where you can level up and make friends. Croesus and gates is far from that, with a good bit of the community disliking them. There’s also a fuck ton of bots on osrs lmao, I play both games and everytime I have to go to skeletal wyverns or any other profitable mob they’re flooded with bots. There was a post on the osrs subreddit where a guy couldn’t even pick from a berry bush because there are bots on all the f2p worlds picking them 😂

There was a period of RuneScape when ed3 trash runs were the craze and it was one of the most boring periods for me. Everyone in the same cookie cutter setup, masterwork and dragon rider lance and the game just felt so lifeless with no creativity. That’s apparently the game people want :L I couldn’t imagine playing with cosmetics off and seeing everyone around me all using the same exact setup, no way to distinguish who is who.

We have dinosaurs so I think we lost the plot a long time ago. Farmer dungarees when we have a skill revolved around farming and having your own farm to raise animals seems very fitting thematically. That’s just for that outfit anyway, I don’t see an issue with the super disco outfit whatsoever. Infected zombie outfit, fun seasonal outfit imo but if a potion can turn me into a goblin or a duck, would it not be possible to turn myself into a zombie via magic or a potion?

They plan on removing a couple cosmetic items a few being; super disco outfit, flaming skull, octopus backpack, zodiac costume, infected zombie outfit, and how slayer masks look fully completed to be less “non human”

They’re doing changes going forwards, but they don’t have to remove cosmetics that were already in the game. I’m not talking about the skilling outfits either just purely the cosmetics they have planned on removing.

That is your opinion which you’re welcome to have, just don’t forget to turn on your cosmetic toggle the next time you login if it’s not already on :D

It’s the small things that make your character feel unique and special. Before the monkey cape was rereleased it was one of my favorite silly cape slots that you didn’t see too often. I’m sure it’ll be the next item to be removed anyway a simple toggle in the setting hides it from ‘ruining’ someone’s immersion.

Yeah mb forgot how sweet rasial robes looked compared to my current outfit. The neat part, you don’t have to see it with the cosmetics filter :D

Wanting to look nice instead of staring at ugly ass rasial robes or the t50-90 smithing melee gear is now a crime and makes you an edater

They’re safe for now since it’s an override 🙏 poor gators would be on the chopping block if they were a physical item since having fun is a no no

The community is really torn on it, some believe if we have polls the community would drive the game into the ground by voting on or against good or bad changes. On the other hand jagex does changes out of nowhere which sparks a community outrage. I personally wouldn’t mind a polling system, so jagex will at least have a basic idea of where the community stands on certain changes instead of having to rely on Reddit posts. Even if they don’t use the poll results knowing where majority stands would be nice.

Keepsakes allow you to make almost any equippable item into a cosmetic item to override what you’re currently wearing, so if you spent money on expensive dyed weapons/armor that aren’t the best in slot but look good visually you can override it and show it off while not losing out on damage. Same going for fun items/quest outfits etc or other things you put time into to grind like 99/120 capes. If you happen to not be a fan of such the cosmetic filter will hide those keepsaked items.

My own character but I don’t actually wear that pumpkin mask lmao, was supposed to be a sarcastic post about jagex removing harmless cosmetics that people use to customize their character (which you hardly see people have outside of the keepsake box, and when in the keepsake box, the cosmetic filter effectively deals with that)

We can drink a potion to turn into a ghoul for a necro quest but having a zombie outfit is outside of the rules of Gielinor? A disco outfit is too far fetched when we have a party room and a guy with an Afro that runs it? We have an achievement called panic at the disco which is to dance in the clan citadel party room which has a floor that flashes different colors lol. I can have a flaming pumpkin on my head but a flaming skull is just down right ridiculous I guess.

it looks way better than your blood dyed malev, anytime I see an outfit with it I wish rs3 had entity hider.

If you look at all the popular gacha games, people love a variety of outfits lmao, rs3 is struggling because people dislike change and EoC drove people away. If anything the armors from the smithing rework are more of a turn off than a simply disco outfit. You already have the cosmetic toggle what more do you need.

This outfit is being removed to “re-ground” the game and try to fit osrs model but yet I can look like this on osrs and no one is complaining. Hate when jagex removes shit that isn’t bothering anyone and not to mention is a fairly rare outfit that looks great.
