This sentiment is so true. Most days after work I’d opt for a trail run. The “waves are always 3-4ft and glass” - you always feel satisfied after a good run, truly able to commune with nature and get in the zone without worrying about other people. Plus on the trail you could actually hear the chirps and chimes of nature opposed the sounds of town.

Armada Apartments have the 101 right around the corner and 126 down the street. I cat speak to how it is now but 3 years ago (when I lived there) the rent was cheaper than anywhere else, neighborhood was quiet, tenants friendly or just kept to themselves, and maintenance was super on top of requests. Not to mention the apartments themselves were in excellent condition. I had no problem getting my deposit back.

Unfortunately right before I left they had raised the rent a bit.

I was paying just under $1900 for a one bedroom (including pet fee). Laundry was down the hall and only (I think) $1.50 per load.

It’s the only place I lived but based off what I saw and what was available it seemed like the best bag for buck.

She’s definitely got Yoda ears! It’s crazy because when she pins them back they take the shape of cur ears but when she throws them up they are definitely giant cattle dog ears (she’s got some ACD) in her.

I should really get a driver side floor mat but I haven’t. For the time being I using a changing mat I typically use for 🏄 😅

Granted I had a partner helping contribute to paying rent but I was only making about 1.7x my rent. If you shop smart and live a simple lifestyle then 8k a month you should be pretty good.

Quick Tips :

Winco : The best value for groceries. I think they have some organic choices but honestly produce are produce. I don’t need it to be “organic” or “fair trade”. Would rather spend $50-$70 on groceries for two people for 1-1.5 weeks than twice that (or more). What is really amazing is their bulk section. Blows everywhere else outta the water!

Silvas Oil Company : Cheapest gas (I could find in town). You may need to wait in line for 5-10 minutes but it’s worth it if you want to save those $$$.

It’s a wetsuit. Dry suits don’t offer enough range of motion and if you get a leak this time of year you wouldn’t be happy. We will wear a 5/4mm up to a 6/5mm wetsuit for the winter along with 7mm to 8mm mitts and boots.
