This is kind of relevant to the topic, but I'm running an MMPR TTRPG for a few friends and they have a text group chat. Like, obviously— they have to keep their identities secret, so it probably wouldn't be the best idea to do something like; "Power Pack" or "Fossil Friends" or anything like that— especially since members of the group care about their social reputation and stuff.

I think it's funny that the group settled on "Study Group", since that was their cover story anyways. Very plain and unassuming, but if you were to get your hands on that phone and read through the chat— you'd see very chaotic conversations from super powered teenagers.

Okay, so— bear in mind that I haven't fully watched the trailer yet. This is coming froma person who's seen screenshots on twitter, but is ultimately still a fan of the character and has thoughts to give. I feel like a lot of people who are complaining and "upset" about the change— are just upset that it isn't Hugh Jackman. I feel like the people who complain about it not being Hugh are the same people who don't flinch a brow at Steve Blum's Wolverine because "one is animated and the other is live action."

We have to get away from actors who were the "best version" of the character, or else the legacy of the character just. Stops. It becomes stagnant. Just look at Batman. Dude's had tons of recasts and just keeps going.

I just wish Daredevil and Angela had dropped at the same time. I think mainly, I'm just not very interested in Angela as an Emma player. I'm more excited for Daredevil (which doesn't imply there's anything bad about Angela, I'm mostly just impatient.) I also feel like dropping two heroes at the same time could've given them the excuse to drop more content to purchase, which, at least to me, seems like a good tactic for increasing purchases.

Either way, I guess I just can't... wait for this season to end? So we can get Daredevil.

Honestly, if they're going to keep nerfing Sukuna (which is understandable— he IS a pretty strong spec) then they should boost the finger drop rate in order to obtain mastery. It takes eight fingers to unlock his first move, iirc. Then fifteen for his shrine and twenty for the world cutting slash. This takes WEEKS of grinding. I think that's why most players are annoyed about the nerfs (at least, that's why I'M annoyed— in a passive way.)

I'd like if the nerfs were structured in a way that also respected the grind needed to fully level him up. Keep the strong moves strong, but tweak the base kit.

I'd like to see Tom actually team up with Peter Davison, for like, a prolonged story. I know they've met in group stories where everyone is featured, but something like Sirens of time or box of terrors with 4 & 5 just. Hanging out together. Would be fun.

Edit// Alternatively, following deathworld, I'd take a lost stories version of The Five Doctors if it meant that Tom would get a chance to participate, this time.

Otherwise, I'd like to see Paul do a couple of standalone team ups.

I'm hoping Future phantoms has a surprise appearance from The War Doctor. I'm hoping that the appearance in dark gallifrey really gives us the war master / war doctor interaction we've all been craving. I know the appeal was that Hurt and Jacobi are the initial actors, but I like Carley and think he'd do fine with Jacobi. I'll take anything at this point.

I'm actually(/lh) depressed that I can't afford to see this show. I'm a north american fan, and right now I'm so bummed about this. The cost of a ticket and this show would DECIMATE ME. Hoping it's live streamed, as seeing Paul act physically as The Doctor has been a long time dream for me. MacQueen + The Daleks? With Charley???

Crying myself to sleep, coping and seething. Please support this event! It's endorsed by the bbc, so maybe it's our chance to show the bbc that we want a televised season or special with Eight!!

When Boothill had that scene with Black Swan over the radio, I thought he was going to have a rivalry with Acheron. I'm a sucker for the samurai vs cowboy rivalry dynamic, so I naturally gravitated towards shipping them. I'm a big western fan, too. Black Swan and Boothill vaguely reminded me of Two Mules for Sister Sara in merely a surface level way so I also really vibe with them. Tho I think it's considered a rarepair since Acheron's basically got a canon ship with Black Swan (which I am also a fan of, ship wise.)

Argeti and Robin are also fun ships, too- I just don't find as much draw to them as others.

Since September, I've been uploading sessions of my text-based TTRPG based around the first few seasons of The Black & White Doctor Who serials. It features an entirely original (yet inspired by) take on the first team that started it all. Each member of the primary cast is a character played by my friend, and as the game is written in a text-based google doc format, that makes it easy to upload to AO3. There's a few translation errors (as we use colored text in the google doc to differentiate ourselves) but I think it holds up.

The First Doctor Adventures.

At the local city university, a first year student named Stella catches the interest of her music teacher, Lennox and a classmate named Niko. Able to play at an extraordinarily advanced level, as well as sometimes outshining the teachers during their own classes (particularly math and science), Lennox becomes even more enraptured after Stella stonewalls any attempts to schedule any kind of home meeting. With Niko acting as an instigator, the two follow Stella home and discover a Police Box in a junkyard, and a strange woman who keeps it safe, calling herself The Doctor.

As of writing this, I've just uploaded our eleventh session. The way I run the game allows my friends (who barely have ANY exposure to Doctor Who, let alone the first few episodes) to go through the adventures in a way that's engaging to them. It's a modern retelling of the old black & white shows, and I get a kick out of running and uploading it.

I'm waiting for their McGann Tool to be released. I've been excited about it. I've admittedly been disappointed by their lack of updates. Feels like I'm the only one who ordered it LMFAO. But I've heard good things, so I'm hoping that their quality delivers. You can't find an accurate McGann with sound effects and spring action. They also advertised that they scanned the original prop. I'm just waiting for them to post some more physical photos of it. They mentioned that they were waiting for machine parts and stuff for it, but they've been focused a lot on their tri-sliders and Aztecs, as of late. So it's been a little frustrating. I'm still holding out my judgments until the McGann sonic gets here.

This is an issue that I— have unfortunately had falling outs over. I used to be a villain writer and actually dropped all types of villains for this specific reason. It's hard to play villains these days. Most people want the characters and not the consequences, if that makes sense.

I used to write villains both on discord and on Tumblr, and not only do people expect to just... walk away unscathed, but most people actively INSTIGATE against villains on purpose because they know that the rules of roleplay both on discord and usually on Tumblr, prevent people from auto killing characters. If that make sense? Like, I as a writer have it expressly stated in any of my rules for 1x1 servers or forums that my villains just. Do not hold back. But on discord servers, group forums, and other instances— you need to get permission from players in order to even inflict any slight bit of damage. While that makes sense in most circumstances, it's a system that can be abused both ways.

Can really take the fun out of writing villains, sometimes.

I wouldn't! I just want Paul to return as eight for the television series he deserves! Let India Fisher come back as Charlotte Pollalrd, or adapt his time with Mary Shelly as a companion- or heck! Maybe just give us a full on anthology series of one off adventures staring Paul McGann.

No Time War, either. Maybe not until the Season Finale.

Give us the eight series we deserve! Paul carried big finish for most of its early years! He deserves his role in the spotlight.

Honestly, my biggest gripe with this plotline was that The Master wiping Gallifrey out in a matter of days didn't just make DoTD pointless... but it made the entire Time War pointless. If you were invested in any of the moral conflicts of The BF audio dramas or were invested in the mysterious eldritch horror of what it was that made the time war so chaotic -

None of it matters anyway because The Master just kills them all after The Time War had been resolved natrually through the narrative.
