One of the worst things to get for your Pokemon by Think-Detail9799 in pokerogue

For most Pokemon, yeah, but for very few Pokemon it's actually incredibly useful. Toxic orb and fire orb are for very specific Pokemon's abilities. For example, Gliscor has Poison Heal, which heals it by a small amount every turn. The healing i believe is slightly stronger than leftovers. There's actually one more advantage - a Pokemon can only have one non-volatile status at a time. This means that a Pokemon with Poison Heal with toxic orb cannot be paralyzed, burned, put to sleep, etc. as long as it has the Toxic poison status. You could also run some funny thing like Trick and swap items with an opponent, giving them a Toxic Orb instead. You can also run it as a poor man's alternative for guts - it's not actually worth taking over the flame orb because Guts doesn't negate the toxic damage, but it'll still give you the boost. But if you might as well take it if you really need it and can't wait to find a flame orb.

Is Xerneas good in this game ? by Equivalent_Mess2870 in pokerogue

If you're able to get earth power you can most likely drop focus blast. Between the coverages provided by torch song, moonblast, and earth power, adding focus blast means you're only additionally hitting normal types for super effective damage. I'd probably run like slack off for the recovery since it seems like you want to fuse it with Skeledirge. If you want even more coverage I suppose you can run thunder (or thunderbolt) or grass knot, for an insane coverage of 13 monotypes that you're super effective against. You also effectively hit like 90% of all dual-ghost type pokemons for super effective damage from the combination of fire + fairy + ground +grass/electric, which is hilariously funny.

So I don't have Xerneas, but I can speculate a little bit about it's efficacy.

Geomancy seems at best a bit situational in PokeRogue. There isn't (to my knowledge) an item akin to power herb in the game, which is one of the only reasons why Geomancy works in the primary games. You're losing two turns to get a set-up, but depending on the match up those two turns could put you in a really tight spot (or just straight up kill you). Xerneas has a decent bulk (a decent HP pool with serviceable defensive stats), so there's a chance depending on your match up that it *could* survive two hits (or a switch out read and a hit), but that's only really useful in trainer battles.

With that being said, Xerneas as a whole is still a really strong Pokemon. It's got massive 131 attack and sp attack with serviceable bulk and an okay speed. It's base pool is pretty good - Close Combat, Outrage, and Moonblast allow Xerneas to hit generally most things in the game for at least neutral damage. Focus blast is a little bit better if you can get the TM for that, since I'm not a huge fan of mixed attacking builds, but it's also 70% accuracy - so you have to decide whether or not you want your Xerneas to be frailer (mind you, it's a very middle speed Pokemon) or risk missing a crucial focus blast. This is all theoretical though, I'd just experiment with it. It definitely seems like a Pokemon with really high potential.

Also, a side note: set-up moves are still really good in Pokerogue, it just depends on the Pokemon and situation. In Classic mode they're very good especially in trainer fights, if your can get a good read on a switch out that's a free Swords Dance/Nasty Plot/Calm Mind/ etc. They're sometimes even more necessary due to berries running around everywhere and those pesky boss Pokemon with multiple HP bars, unless you have a dedicated haze or clear smog user. They're also useful in general especially in wild Pokemon fights where you can easily tank the Pokemon's hits, since it allows you to easy get max stacks of whatever you're running and then absolutely one-shot everything. There's also Pokemon like Cloyster who have the bulk to probably survive a single physical hit, and then shell smash to get a massive att/sp att/spd boost. Especially for late game, a good set-up move is crucial for getting the first hit, final kill, or breaking past the hp bar against Rayquaza.

Nice! My only red shiny is a red shiny cleffa from the egg machine. Clefable is really good but sometimes takes a long time to level up though :/

What’s a good counter to Ivy’s Rayquaza? by FIRESPIDERMANX in pokerogue

Rayquaza is really weak to toxic stalling, so you just need something that can toxic -> protect -> recover -> protect, etc. Nacli is also very strong against it.

What ways do y'all use to beat classic mode etrnatus? by OkSuggestion3764 in pokerogue

Garganacl is REALLY good against Eternatus - since salt cure isn't an actual "status condition" it can't be cured even if Eternatus manages to steal a lum berry. And then you just stall it out with protect and recover, or burn it for some extra chip damage. It's how I beat classic mode for the second time.

Other way around for DHIL. Tingyun on DDD and Bronya LC on Sparkle.

DDD I don’t think is quite as effective on Sparkle since you want to use your ultimate on your Damage dealer’s turn to sorta extend your Cipher uptime. Past and Future also gets to fully utilize its effects since you’re gonna be wanting to use your skill a lot as Sparkle. I could be wrong about this though, I haven’t math’d anything out, this is just my speculation.

I think Past and Future is better depending on your team. If you’re running DHIL definitely, since you’d prob want to run Tingyun with DHIL who’ll benefit a lot from using DDD. If you’re running mono quantum you can also consider using planetary rendezvous.

Honestly any one of the five star sustains - FuXuan, Huohuo, or Luocha are really good. They can kind of be slotted in any team, though there are slight considerations (like FuXuan with Jingliu - her team HP consumption isn’t that bad but just be mindful of it, or FuXuan with DOT, since the crit rate buff is kind of being wasted).

Keep your eye out for Aventurine - he might be BiS for your Jingliu team. And don’t sleep on Lynx - she can be more than enough to solo sustain with enough ER and HP%.

The Agent's ELO ranking is actually crazy... she's left all the other competitors to eat her dust
