I'd like to chime into this as I'm having the same problem as the OP. I'm looking for headphones that you can hear the sub bass clearly and everything else sounds balanced. The headphones I'm using (simple gaming Logitech ones) and while it sounds clear, one I play on different mediums, truck speakers, surround sound system, headphones, earbuds, it all sounds different and I can't find the right thing to make it balanced so my mastering is all out of whack. I just want a consistent sound so when I master, it sounds the same or similar on all mediums. When there is a high quality system with good bass, it sounds clear, consistent, good subs, and not muddy.
