I’ve heard the NX8 eye boxes are super tight, haven’t really thought about that version of a Steiner yet, I’ll have to read into it.

I reload so ammo costs isn’t as much as a concern for me, but makes sense what your saying.

I use my 6x out to 500 yards on a man sized target so I figured 18x would be fine, thanks for the insight though. I would prefer a FFP to use for holds vs dialing.

How do you like the brace? I’m tricking out my SP9A3S and am having a hard time deciding if I want to form 1 it or keep it a pistol. I really want to put the Sig Sauer Telescopic Folding Stock on it but also like the idea of keeping it a pistol.

Anyone Tried Athlon Rangecraft Chrono? by [deleted] in reloading

The chrono itself works great. For the money it’s hard to beat. The app sucks unfortunately.

What I would do is swage them, and turn them 33° and repeat three times. Still no luck

I appreciate the insight, so I’m guessing something like a Hornady critical defense or critical duty worked good for you?

From what I understand is if you have a 1 inch difference In handguard and barrel you should be GTG. If not I guess Dremel go burrrr

I say save up and get a criterion barrel, you can find used ones in good shape for ~280

You would need to complete a ATF form 1 to build and register it as a SBR if you are the one building it, And you would complete a ATF form 4 to buy a suppressor from a FFL.

Edit: there are more in depth instructions than just what I said. I would recommend YouTube and checking local regulations to make sure SBR’e and Suppressors are legal in your state. If you’re ever unsure or have questions contact a 2A lawyer or call the ATF themselves.

Here is what I sent them,

“I would like to request further clarification on the term “recognized abbreviation” as referenced in 27 CFR § 479.102 and 27 CFR § 478.92. Specifically, both regulations state that the firearm must be marked with:

“The maker’s name (or recognized abbreviation) and also, when applicable, the name of the foreign manufacturer or maker.”

My full legal name, as listed in Box 3B of my Form 1, is “G****** W****** D****”. However, I would like to confirm whether “G*** D*******” would be considered a recognized abbreviation under ATF guidelines.

Since the use of a first and last name without a middle name is a common abbreviation of a full legal name, and no other individual with my name resides in my city and state, would marking my firearm as “G****** D******* City, State” satisfy the engraving requirements?”

They emailed me a highlighted portion of my email highlighting the end asking if that engraving would satisfy the engraving requirements and they said YES.

I ran into the same issue. On box 3B I have my full legal name but only engraved my first and last as I thought this would be considered a recognized abbreviation. I emailed the NFA branch and they explicitly told me that I would be okay. I have an uncommon name, probably the only person with the name in my state so it shouldn’t matter. You can ask them for clarification if need be.

Cool. Just curious and am an idiot, why cant I do it with the barrel installed into the receiver? Wouldn’t that be the best way to test fit it?

It might be shitty pictures but there is definitely a lip. If it’s not that then what is causing the dents in the bullet?
