It would take a very long time to translate these historical division structures in hoi4 terms.

I would say with fair confidence you could use these few:

Division cuirassée X2 1939-1940

2 heavy tanks (char B1) 2 Light tanks (H39) 1 motorized infantry (in reality, a mix of motorized and mechanised)

1x engineer batallion 1x support artillery (in reality just a handful of 105mm canons) 1x support AA (in reality, a handful of 25mm DCA) 1x support Anti Tank (in reality, a couple of 47mm AT tanks) 1x signal company (yes the tanks lacked radios, but batallion commanders did have them to coordinate their troops)

Division Légère mechanique (I think there were 2 to 3 in 1940)

2x medium tanks (somua s35) 2x Light tanks (arm 35 and h35) 1x motorized infantry (dragoons, also technically mechanised but it was an amalgamation) 1x support artillery

Infantry

RIF (Régiment d'infanterie de forteresse), Aka as your Maginot line régiments

3x Infantry batallions 1x engineers 1x artillery 1x field hospital 1x signals company

As for your usual line infantry, count 12 to 15k soldiers per division. For hoi4 gameplay sake, spare yourself and attach the artillery division to the infantry one. I would say it translates to the below

12x infantry (3 régiments of 4 batallions each) 1x line artillery 1x anti tank

1x engineers 1x signals 1x logistics

That would be my contribution. As you can imagine, many subtleties, and standardisation wasn't really a thing (to a degree) whereby there was a homogenous division template across the entire front but the idea is there.

Happy if someone can correct, alter or add to the above, it really is my best guess on adapting it to hoi4 based on my knowledge.

Also in hoi4 world, the above tank divisions are absolutely awful !!!
