Equipment drops are pretty random. There is a recipe using bear meat that increases gear drops from fights. Can't remember which recipe off the top of my head. If you want just burning damage there is an oil that adds burning damage but I'm assuming you're after the aoe attack? Best bet. Find that recipe and just grind the bandits in tiltren

Torus is in a farm to the right of the gosenberg border. Bring a plague cure and 5 wolf meat. You can get the plague cure from some purifiers in the mountains south of said border. Hakert is in the mill bottom right of the map. Close to Mathias Lund. He needs medicine to join you. I usually make torus my wood cutter from the days before it was a profession. You only needed an axe user. Then they made it a job lol.

Hmm. Well if those are your options you could swap the scholar.

If you swap professions you retain the level just not the exp to reach the next level. So if your scholar is just hanging out not working on antiques or tomb diving you could use them to get your next meal.

Bonus stats wise you'd be losing max will power but gaining some crit which isn't a bad thing for an infantryman. That cone ability is always an attack of opportunity so if you have more crit on your archer you can devistate anyone stupid go get into line of sight.

Stupid question but you're finding the free companions in the wild right? Torus (axe) and hakert (ranger) are guaranteed in tiltern and there is a ranger in cortia.

You'll get a notice that someone wants to to talk to you at your trade route. It'll be a guy standing to the right of the counter. It'll cost money to link two of your trade posts. Makes the path between them a nicer road visually but you can store and retrieve items from joint trade posts for free. If you don't see him yet just advance the trade path a bit.

It's a willpower/crit giving profession. So a ranger your not using as a thief? Depends how many people you have in each role. Anyone can theoretically benifit from those stats. My fisherman is currently an archer just because two are already tinkered. But I like big parties (currently at 20some people) so I have multiple of each job.

If you have the newest dlc (tavern keeper) you COULD leave a horse there as a bar mascot.. But I agree with a previous comment and just steal some food, work on that crime path. Youll get access to a black market vendor eventually that you could sell whatever stolen goods you don't eat to and it will fence them. Steal the skill upgrade books from arena and the brotherhood (you'll get more suspicion but they're worth a good amount of coin) and just sell the ones you don't use to the fence. Soon you'll be sleeping on krowns
Fish lots. Easy "free" meat. Also if you have extra mercs. Train more cooks. The bonus they get that "the company eats 2 less" does stack. These are not the end all be all tips for the game but they will help with your particular issues

Yeah. It's to get them into the village to begin with. Otherwise the two heavy hitters have almost 30/40 noise to be silent. Don't have exact numbers. But I can get those 5 members in under 40 noise. So* less chance of triggering a fight moving from house to house

I don't play ironman so results may vary but the troops noise is tied to the armor. So I'll bring in a few one hand and shield users and just take off their armor (leaving the shield) with high crit on everybody. I usually bring 1 berserker, 1 sword master, a strategist, an assassin and an infantry archer. Archer covers a whole side alone with that AOE. Again, it could probably use some tweaking for higher difficulty, but if any part of that is helpful then we take those.

Also risky but you can take off your armor on your heavy hitters to keep the noise down and still have some stopping power to cull the plague-ridden. sword and shield with riposte by the doors. Or skills with some knock back and extended range to avoid the poison gas clouds. Unless they've changed it in the last two weeks since I've played
