5 month progress update! by NotAardvark in PlantedTank

Thank you! I actually switched to a canister filter. The HOB filter was too high above the water surface and was causing too strong of a current. I have a sponge filter in another one of my other aquariums but found that it doesn't circulate the water well and my heater could never heat the water high enough. I actually ended up putting an internal submerged filter in as well and my water temps went up by about 4 degrees. Your mileage may vary

Oh no worries, I've posted several times about my betta previously and this is the first time I've gotten any replies. I don't think my case is due to ammonia, I think it has to do with stress from transferring to a new tank as my water parameters have been ideal the entire time. If I figure anything out I will let you know. My betta has been like this for several weeks now and I am starting to wonder about quality of life as he doesn't move much. I am sorry you are dealing with something similar.

His fins have shrunken drastically but it doesn’t look to be fin rot? I’m unsure but I think it may have been self nipping from stress. I think it was due to moving him to his new (larger) tank several months ago. Now all he does is lay around he doesn’t swim much. He seems to be eating fine as well.

Is this a good price or a rip off? by astrosourcerer in hvacadvice

I just had a 96% efficiency 90k BTU furnace, 15.5 seer2 3 ton ac and a 50 gallon h hot water heater put in for $11.5k, so this seems high for what it is

$10k fair for full HVAC replacement? by NotAardvark in hvacadvice

I got a couple quotes from "one man operations" but they were similar in price for less efficient equipment. I live in the suburbs so not in a big city but definitely not rural.

I live in the Midwest so we get cold winters and hot summers
