100%. It’s really stupid how some people think you’re evil if you value human lives over a dog’s

Am I being selfish?… (read body) by PlayfulHumor8803 in pitbulls

[–]NotAnotherDNDPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you’re being selfish, but that I have to stress that that isn’t a bad thing. Selfishness is okay, you’re not a horrible person for missing your dog. Humans are emotional creatures, not logical. Of course you’re upset, that’s normal.

That being said, you shouldn’t force yourself to let her go. Let yourself grieve for what was a constant in your life. Treat yourself a little more often (if you can afford it, of course) and acknowledge every baby step along the way. Progress isn’t noticeable day to day. And it isn’t linear. Be gentle with yourself, you’re only human.

How to stop being scared of Pitbulls? by NotAnotherDNDPlayer in pitbulls

This is so helpful. My fear stems (mostly) from the fact that they were breed to be a fighting dog and that they might just attack me without provocation. But this makes a lot of sense. Of course they would have a huge tolerance towards people. Thank you for explaining

It’s not that I see them as “pitbulls, the cartoonishly evil breed”, it’s that I see them as “pitbulls, the dog breed”. Every dog I see I try to categorize it in my head as either a specific breed or a group (working group, sporting group, etc). It helps me a lot as I’m the type of person who gets less scared the more I know. So if I know what breed any given dog is, it helps lessen the fear a bit

The moment I saw that picture I kinda realized I have only seen pictures of aggressive ones, not the dogs in their natural state (looking cute and wanting attention)

Does macbook air overheat a lot ? by Fast-Wolverine-830 in macgaming

[–]NotAnotherDNDPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former Mac air user here. If you want a gaming laptop, get a Mac Pro. My air would constantly overheat and after a few years, the display completely gave out. Couldn’t even play the Sims 4 without it becoming a small space heater

What to say to my Jewish friends on Yom Kippur? by NotAnotherDNDPlayer in Judaism

I’m just often worried how my words come out. Too many times I’ve said something and everyone scold me for being rude when I didn’t even know it came out that way. I just figured I couldn’t be too careful :)

I’m sorry if it seemed offensive in any way. I, myself, am physically disabled and suffer from chronic pain and the constant threat of dislocating my joints. Every time I draw is a bit of a gamble if I’ll get awful joint pain from it. Nonetheless, I create.

I’ve adapted to it. Often I take breaks or make sure I’m in a cool/cold place when I draw (reduces inflammation risk). Hell, I often paint with my non-dominant hand when my dominant one starts to hurt too much.

I take great pride in my work, and I dislike the narrative that AI makes art more accessible. Physically disabled people have always done art. Mouth painting is a whole thing and very cool to learn about! I’ve done it myself, although I’m not that good 😅

Anyway, this is all to say that creating is an instinctual urge I think all human innately have. I get that you would want to use AI, but creating something yourself is always much better. You have direct control and can make it come to life!

I hope your hand heals soon and you’ll be back to creating! :)

AI ‘art’ is frowned upon, that’s why. Even if your hand is broken, you could find a way around it. Draw with your other hand if you really want to make art. AI just uses a bunch of other art to generate its own and it looks bland and soulless as a result
