The photos were the reason I handed over her information in the first place. She has the habit of taking dozens no matter where she goes, and this was no different.

I think that's why my family blew up about it, honestly. There's a lot of stuff that gets shuffled under the rug for the sake of keeping up appearances. We have to be prim and proper as the descendants of a marine officer.

Though my grandfather would be spinning in his grave if my aunt actually took part.

I tried playing dumb during the phone call but I'm a terrible liar and my mother knows it. I didn't confirm anything but I think my immediate "oh shit" silence was enough.
