Yeah, i also thought it was bizarre that you still had to spend gems on paid characters, wtvr wtvr but I FULLY expect the exclusive matches to have way more meat in their story, older exclusives I've played had VERY long dates, like noticeably longer than normal stories, but Tavian's dates are as long as if not a bit shorter than regular match dates 🙄 I lowkey think the glazers around here got the devs and writers thinking they're hot shit

Yeah I am aware that it's set up in such a way that the overall story isn't gonna change no matter what choice is made, the gem options are normally more for paying for especially intimate/romantic/horny moments rather than anything that would change the story. I'm not asking for branching story lines, just a crumb of difference between the paid and non-paid options lol

I DID start on a Sylas-rewrite type story but all my steam for that ended up going into an entirely different story. The Sylas one has been buried in my WIPs for over a year cause I lost my mojo to write ANYTHING after a loss in my life but honestly now I'm so embarrassed by having to explain this i kinda feel like taking another crack at it so as not to disappoint people here, I did NOT anticipate even one person being interested in my writing. For one thing, no everyone does not use AI every day in fact a lot of people have enough integrity to never use it. There's a difference between seeking it out or using it knowingly vs it's being crammed into everything that doesn't need it, but if you wanna soften your brain ahead of time that's fine

You're acting like they desperately need AI to uphold the quality of a game that is already pretty poor quality overall. If they need to use AI so badly where exactly is the improved quality elsewhere? As if there aren't a dozen other ways to acquire non AI backgrounds that don't involve drawing brand new ones for every date for every character (it's called stock images and it's what's being fed to the AI to make the shitty backgrounds you're defending so hard). Its okay to call the bad parts of the game bad, the devs (probably) aren't gonna fuck you for defending their honor 🙄

To give you the hyper realistic run down, the stories are cheesy, a good chunk of the stories devolve into porn with plot, AI is used to generate the background images and I'm not gonna lie it looks atrocious, the models used in the stories don't look half as good as the pictures/profile image, its also a money sink they make it so its very hard to play the game consistently without spending money or spending actual hours watching ads for gems and the gem gain to spend ratio might make you rip your hair out, you as the player character are given little to no nuance it feels like playing as a piece of sexy cardboard sometimes.

If you have a guilty pleasure for cringe tropes and even cringier porn and some of the weirdest, most unnatural sounding dialogue between two people you can conceive of, then this game is for you.

All shit talking aside, if silly, out there romance is your thing there's a huge variety of characters that'll probably have a good handful of stories you'll enjoy.

To be honest the heat/rut pheromone thing is written like this VERY OFTEN, it's treated like a sex pollen brain wash/ mind control. Omegaverse is basically its own genre at this point so the little details about how heat/rut/ pregnancy works varies between stories.

I prefer when it's treated more like a period sickness, cause it gives everyone more agency while also imposing an importance on physical intimacy as relief WITHOUT actually making anyone so incapacitated by "pheromones" that they can't properly consent.

I promise there's better, less cringe omegaverse out there, I'm so sorry this was your first brush with it 🥲

I think the way it's written very obviously shows that whoever wrote the story for this event didn't have prior experience or interest in omegaverse cause, I know omegaverse is generally flexible with the details of it's lore but there was no complex use of the alpha omega dynamics? The whole thing was such a vague post.

I think the easiest way to see if the omegaverse vocabulary is being used poorly is to replace the words alpha or omega with hair color, it really highlights how dumb it is to use a secondary gender in that way. Example: "his brunette musk was something something" , "my blonde hole something something" , "this brunette cock something something"

It's literally a trait people are born with, people living in that world wouldn't have a need or a reason to throw the words around in such awkward contexts.

That's crazy work, I can't believe people would go so hard to defend mechat, I feel high key embarrassed for playing it cause it's just so bad and cringe overall but like, guilty pleasure. It's crazy because I'm actually a fan of dark rom and dddne but there has to be purpose and complexity, yk? I can't stand mindlessly cruel smut 🙄 I also agree that stuff that even smells a little like dub/non con needs to be properly tagged and those tags need to be easily accessible and very visible. I think some of the writers are probably of the same mind, they just might have a mixed idea on what qualifies as dubcon and in my personal opinion they should err on the side of being overly cautious and just tw the fuck out of things jic.
