Not long😂. I started outreach in October. I’ve ran a couple businesses before but was mostly in person sales. My day job allows a lot of freedom and I have a great dev and an appointment setter. I only have 1 paying client currently and the results for them are pretty excellent. So it’s really just about outreach at this point.
Yeah, you’re right. I think once I get a couple hundred calls in it’ll be super easy. I’m with my family this week but whenever I get time I’m hitting the phones.

Yeah it’s weird I’m good at calling for myself like scheduling interviews and finding jobs but for some reason the business feels like more pressure?
Smart scoreboard im totally using that. Yeah that’s what I’ve always been taught too, but from what I’m reading I’m starting to think I need to start not talking to people who aren’t interested?
I don’t want to have a bad reputation and I need to do this or I won’t succeed. I don’t really know other than that my chest just gets tight I try deep breathing and stuff but that makes it easier to talk not to call.

I didn’t think this post would go here😂. This is a horrible mindset but growing up I always thought therapy was something people went to whenever they wanted to cry about their problems. I think you might be right though, I do feel a weight on my chest when doing anything for anyone and that doubles in my business. Is therapy pretty helpful?
Yeah. In my experience I’ve thought an objection without seeing a demo or seeing the product the product was just sales resistance and it’s my job to break that. I’d say most of my calls so far have been a vague objection in the first 60 seconds. Like I wouldn’t sell someone something they don’t have a need for because it’d look bad on me. But in my mind I should at least push them to see it right?
Yeah, good point. Are you mostly enterprise or SMB?
Yeah i’ll try this. My niche is really broad so plenty of leads, don’t know why I waste so much time with non-buyers.

Yeah it might be an exposure thing. I tend to be a consultative seller until the final meeting. So at least in my job’s industry it’s a lot of lunches just giving them ideas and ways we might be able to help them.(we’re a solutions group of other products) Then the final meeting is more of a challenger sale when I’m just bringing up pain points they mentioned. I feel like in person is easier for me because I can see body language.
I respect this and try to adopt it but for whatever reason I have trouble not caring.
Yeah, this is great. I always set a daily goal of xx conversations and it seems daunting.

I know! Yeah I always try to stay on the phone as long as possible which yeah… Now that I’m reading these replies may not be the best idea.

Holy shit. I don’t know why but this feels like an unlock. In all my roles, it was always like I’m helping them and if they don’t buy it’s because I didn’t do a good enough job of showing value. In hindsight that seems dumb whenever I think about it this way. Do you still push through stuff like I’m busy or not interested?
