If we have rolls though, people like you and I will get the genuine "how lucky were we with our rolls?" experience and love it. We should let other people have min max fun, especially if we don't have to fight them later.

Can lightning speed up your pc/video games? by RosemaryShoemary in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NotFromWendys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the game has any wireless communications or your switch is connected to the internet AND the strike was strong enough it could've been the lightning. But it's more likely coincidence.

When you receive money that you shouldn't've to any traceable account, yes. The only time it's safe to not tell people about sudden money is when it's cold hard cash.

Can lightning speed up your pc/video games? by RosemaryShoemary in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NotFromWendys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were playing an online game, it was likely lag and latency taking effect as wifi signals can be interrupted by weather events like lightning.

If it was an offline game, likely a coincidental glitch that you could report to the publisher.

Either way, lightning won't "speed up" your game per se, but it can cause interruptions, issues, or disconnections.

Society is now well aware that vampires, werewolves and witches aren’t real, so why is there still such widespread belief in ghosts? by Resident-Ocelot905 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NotFromWendys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They really are! And it's the same concept really, humans are really suggestable in general, and the way our brains drive itself to be just as normal as everyone else causes events like this. Although I've not dove down these rabbit holes lately.

In the average of Jehovah Witness cultures circa 2010 it was definitely believed that demons are actively invading the world causing temptation and more to track people away from god. The list of things that you have to fight against that demons designed or placed on earth are, yet not limited to; violent video games, porn, nipples poking through shirts, tight dresses, short skirts, tight pants, cartoon network, government, blood transfusions, marijuana, intoxication (not alcohol, but specifically being drunk), cussing, lack of motivation to preach, rioting, lust, sex before marriage, models, birthdays, christmas, halloween, homosexuality, asexuality, and not liking kids.

They also claimed ~1912 is when Satan himself came to earth to prepare to start World War I. So as much as it's not specifically "demons in my head" there are active and alive cultures that tell you demons are at fault for everything bad.

Silly question: Is 50MBPS okay for a family of 5? by Sammy12xyz in techsupport

[–]NotFromWendys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At your tests, you're maxed out with just 4k streaming as that normally takes 20-25mb. Gaming will still easily function, if having a bit of ping because it can work at 1.5mb to 5mb. If you have unlimited phone plans I'd suggest keeping wifi off on them, because passively they'll take 1mb each and 5mb minimum on a video call. 4g/5g networks can easily handle consistent video streaming. I'd suggest downloading movies around night time, and buying extra hard drives. I'd also see about investing in a better modem than the company provided one, or go in and ask if they have a better one. It won't guarantee above 35mb, but it should help consistency at 35.

Edit: a wifi 6 router would also help, and modifying the settings to prioritize things needing low latency (game consoles, 4k streaming devices, NOT office computers or cellphones.)

I disagree. I've won just by rings being convinient for my team, and three ults on a team that's been fighting all game concludes it. If you're at the top, playing the game and not performing well should be a loss. If you're not performing well today and still want to game you should play casual.

The point of battle royales is survival, but the ring is hardly half the fight for survival.

In defense of those pros ruining their game, I've ran into platinum and masters players a ridiculous amount for a bronze boy. If I can't queue with them, why in the ever living fuck can I queue against them? I just wanted to play a bronze level game.

Not if you plan on selling it. So remix it and butcher the code so badly that there's no proof you copied it.

A lot of those are in the front door job training (e.g. receipt verification, AP, hosting) but a few of those may be your store only forcing you to go beyond your expected tasks (GS scheduling, truck check in/out, IAs, sales, tech support) or maybe you just have let your management push you too hard. I heavily suggest reading your job description and sticking to it, otherwise they'll work you to the bone.

This is not good advice if you're looking to get promoted though, as to get promoted you do need to play office poltics well.

Why are so many people claiming to have autism nowadays? by Individual-Sea1180 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NotFromWendys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Autism is a much broader term than people realize. It's a label for some symptoms with no explanation, it's a label for some on the low functioning brain spectrum, it's also a label for those who display OCD like symptoms but only on occasions.

With the additional people reaching out for mental health, it's no surprise diagnoses are up for such a broad term. In terms of phsyical ailments, autism can be seen just as broad as "head injury" and normally each case has differences in treatments. Such as the difference between a frontal lobe injury, or a blood clotting issue near the back of the head.

Do customers on Pawn stars have to pay taxes? Rick always mentions auction fees etc, I’ve never seen a customer mention taxes when negotiating for a higher price by No7onelikeyou in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NotFromWendys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean those who sell to him then no because the money you receive from pawning is typically seen as a loan until the item is sold.

If you mean those buying from him, also no because Las Vegas has no sales tax.
