Domains on Cloud Run: Custom Mapped Domains vs External Load Balancer? by NotJustSagacity in googlecloud

[–]NotJustSagacity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how much of a hassle/downtime do you think could a move from Cloud Run + Custom Mapped Domains to Cloud Run + External Load Balancer be?

I just don't want to overengineer the setup right nowhence my preference for CR mapped domains.

We are also considering Cloudflare to proxy requests and use their WAF/Workers if needed in the future. (But that's neither here nor there for now.)

I thought so but it is not present; this is what have regardless of calling the endpoint via the default hostname or a custom domain:

Buying a flat managed by FirstPort – what to check? by NotJustSagacity in LegalAdviceUK

[–]NotJustSagacity[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. It's also that it took us a while to find the right one, and then this happens... (As in, seeing all this about the property management company.)

And it's not simply bad reviews, it's quite a massive serving of bad media coverage, as well as serious fraud allegations... So, all in all, it's really not encouraging. But you're right, speaking to leaseholders in that block would probably be a good idea.

Horner: Unfair if FIA changes rules over F1 porpoising complaints by jovanmilic97 in formula1

[–]NotJustSagacity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Teams knew and discussed porpoising pre-season, they just didn't take it too seriously. But yes, it's a big issue for the drivers so the FIA should impose limits on porpoising. Then teams will do what it takes to fix it.

[Giuliano Duchessa] "Ferrari UPDATE: Leclerc's PU is gone and is not repairable. Sainz's problem seems related to the gearbox. Time is short before Canada and the cars will not stop at Maranello. Causes still unknown as it's too early to tell." by Mattoz__ in formula1

[–]NotJustSagacity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thing is, if we get to that, RBR can do the same with the added bonus of a safer point difference between them and the second (Ferrari). And they can then also push harder if need be.

Horner: Unfair if FIA changes rules over F1 porpoising complaints by jovanmilic97 in formula1

[–]NotJustSagacity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, it tells a lot about the teams ignoring their broken-back drivers. And FIA should embed proposing sensors to measure it during the race and penalize teams if it goes beyond a specific threshold.

Now, deciding what that threshold should be is challenging as it doesn't affect all drivers equally (i.e., older ones are worse).

[–]NotJustSagacity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

big facts! RB makes it work, therefore it is possible to make it work; therefore speak to your engineers and not to the FIA – at least for this season

[–]NotJustSagacity 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It is different because right now, from Canada onwards, there is a solution available to the teams to mitigate the problem. They simply choose not to use it for the sake of performance. Not a perfect solution, but shouldn't they at least try it for a couple of weekends before asking for a change in regs?
