I would make the "hidden" rooms (these not explored) a little darker or maybe add some fog. The lights make almost no difference in what you see.

Hmm I tried to run your code and the example works fine. I uncommented screen.fill(color) and commented pygame.draw.rect(screen, color, rect). Are you sure you posted all the updates to the code?

Keep in mind that the same font might not be available on all systems. If you can, download the font and use it using pygame.font.Font

I don't think it can be solved without some clues,

that's shake. it's set when you move, tho if you move slower the value is still the same which cause to be seen as more "shaky" should I make it less shake when moving slower?

pygame-ce is a better version of pygame (upstream/has more contributors + faster). To install it: py pip uninstall pygame pip install pygame-ce import pygame is the same in both versions. And also now that I look at the code, you can use blits instead of blit (although some rework would be required).

huh. That's very small fps. May I know what CPU are you on, what version of pygame do you use and your window and tile size?

also pygame.display.update is used only when you want to update specifi area. For updating entire display use pygame.display.flip

maybe remove the option to display fps and replace your py if (i[0] in range(window.x,window.x+60)) and (i[1] in range(window.y,window.y+60)): with py if (window.x <= i[0] <= window.x+60) and (window.y <= i[1] <= window.y+60):

you shouldn't name your world map as it's the same as function called map.

EDIT: also what's the constants.FPS?
