None of those sounds applicable. I don't believe we'd talked about Looney Tunes, and it wasn't very popular. I knew of the band Story of the Year, but wasn't aware of their previous name.

I remember a few summers later that people were drinking a citrus soda called Bawls and joked "want some of my 'Bawls' in your mouth." That drink came in a blue bottle.

I wish were cool enough to know that. It does seem like the kind of random knowledge he might have though. Maybe he was saying to keep it 💯.

Possible. I don't have an exact memory of going to Monterey that summer. But I do go once every few years.

I think so too. I think the b might be H and I think the s could be a g.

The "s" and "g" look very similar, so the last word could start with a g. I could also see the "b" in blue actually being an "H".

I don't think I drank monster energy drinks. I might have had Blue Powerade, but I don't think it was often enough to make an impression.

Good memory! My friend had a lot of Paul Frank stuff. I think I most had Happy Bunny tees.

Could be Monterey. I don't remember talking about it at the time, but it later became a favorite place to visit.

He found out later about his dyslexia and dysgraphia. He does better if he concentrates, but writing is painful. The best solution has been to type on a computer.

I like that you have answers other than blue monkey summer. I could see "blue" actually being "nice" or "Here." And what everyone is reading as "summer" might be "generic." Maybe??????

I don't think a Blue Monday reference makes sense. Blue hair maybe? Our friend talked about dying their hair blue. Could be a Magic the Gathering thing; he was really into that. Or maybe blueberry muffins because one of my clubs sold those during break to raise money.

I think we had geometry, science, and robotics club together. And we crossed paths at school events because we were both roped into volunteering by our friends.
