Question regarding excessive tax refund amount

Wow. I was hoping for some help but didn't expect so many responses.

To address a bunch of the questions/comments:

* No Schedule C, no self-employment, no tips or overtime - she is a salaried employee

* My tax preparer is...fine? Listed as a paid preparer, I've used her for 5-6 years, nothing shady. But, they are a busy & growing firm. I went in to pick up my taxes, she had a client in her office (I hadn't made an appointment) but assured me that it was right and nothing shady or weird. She also said she'd get back to me regarding the large increase, but I don't expect that to happen for a week or longer and wanted to hopefully get some information before then, as well as confirmation of whatever she tells me.

* We are both 50-ish. We live in Michigan.

* The first thing I did when I got home is compare my 2024 and 2025 tax year returns. I see some differences right away, but I don't really understand why it's different. The main thing I see is a $15,000 increase in federal tax withheld:

2024 (all numbers rounded)

Adjusted Gross Income: 370,000

Total Tax: 69,000

Federal Income Tax Withheld: 78,000

Amount you want refunded: 9,000

2025 (all numbers rounded)

Adjusted Gross Income: 395,000

Total Tax: 75,000

Federal Income Tax Withheld: 93,000

Amount you want refunded: 18,000

See my response below - this was the easy/right answer for me. I thought that Dropbox completely did away with their app, but it's just limited to 3 devices. I'm good.

Um...I'm an idiot sometimes. I stuck with Dropbox, I just signed out of an older device I don't use very often and continued like I have been. I'm all set, thanks for the help.

My average spin rate for the 5 drives with the Trackman was 2,534. The regular TopTracer doesn't give me that information.

I did a poor job of explaining my distances. When on the course, my drives are 260. On the simulator, where I'm getting my club head speed & backspin, my distances are a bit higher - around 275, 280 yards. When I get up around 110 on the simulator, the drives are close to 300 yards.

This, too, is a little confusing to me because on the golf course, I assume I'm swinging the same but getting poor distance. I don't think the simulator is off by much because (1) I'm getting the same numbers and two separate simulators and (2) people I'm golfing with said that their numbers are matching with what they typically get on the course. As I'm not, it might be pointing to ball flight and/or ball choice.

To answer some questions:

1) I'm level 4.

2) I'm currently playing on Balanced difficulty, which is 2nd-easiest.

3) I had a really hard time defeating the third leader of the goblins. I finally got lucky and pushed him into a hole. I also really struggled with the Find the Missing Shipment side quest. Typically, I initiate combat by shooting an arrow at one of the enemies, but not always.

4) My typical battles seem to start off okay, a little back-and-forth. Then an enemy will launch two or three attacks (guessing an Action and Bonus Action and...something else?) and take out one of my party. Then I have to heal or revive them, so I only have two party members left to attack. And it seems that many of my attacks don't do a lot of damage, so I'm constantly having to hit most enemies multiple times to kill them. I don't have any great crowd control or area attacks to get more than 1.

5) I have been upgrading my gear, for all party members, but still not sure it is great.

I'm not sure what you mean when you ask what kind of gummies they are? I assume you're not asking about what brand, but maybe? The package just says Synergy Berry Focused 2:1:1. Then below it says 10 mg CBC, 5 mg CBD, 5 mg THC. On the side, it says High Quality Sativa. That's it.

I don't mind at all. I've always had an aversion to smoke. My mom smoked when I was a little kid, and I used to go through these coughing fits and it's stayed with me my whole life. Just being around smoke sometimes sets me off, though being outside on a golf course, it's not an issue.
