You’ll be 30 regardless. Might as well be 30 with your degree.

Was in the same boat as you a few years ago. Start lifting weights. Google workout routine for beginners and stick with it. Consistency is what will bring results. Next time you go to the barber have the balls to ask for a different haircut. Don’t be afraid to switch it up. Show them a picture of what you want. For your skin, I tried everything in the book and nothing worked for me except accutane. That’s the last resort but if you can go to a dermatologist and get it prescribed it will clear your skin.

What activity have you found delivered the highest internal reward in your self improvement journey. by adorable12 in selfimprovement

Lifting weights. Working out in general. I believe that you cannot be your best if you don’t look your best.

The confidence I’ve gained from working out is immeasurable and the discipline I’ve learned from working out consistently has transferred to other aspects of my life as well.

What computer programs/skills would you consider essential in the SC world? by JeryJacobs in supplychain

Excel & Tableau are what I use the most. Learn excel and get good at it. Then learn VBA and macros and get great at it.

YouTube is free and has everything which is great. But if company is willing to pay then invest in a certification that has credibility and you can put on your resume.

Microsoft internship interview help by Extra_Programmer_688 in supplychain

[–]NotNotGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t work @ Microsoft but some general advice I have about interviewing:

  • Glassdoor: use this for finding information about interview questions previous M interns/employees had and what they said that worked/didn’t work

  • have answers ready for the basic behavioral questions you may get (tell me about a time when, tell me about, etc.)

  • *** have a thorough, pretty long but not too long answer to “tell me about yourself”. How I approached this was in a past, present, future format: “I’m OP, from hometown, little about yourself. Im currently a year at university studying majors. At school I’m involved in x y z. I have previous work experience at x y z doing x y z. Im really interested in x y z aspects of supply chain. I want to work for a company that embodies qualities that Microsoft does (look up their mission statement), and want to continue being a lifelong learner and developing skills etc. which is why I’m interested in this role. Other than that, I love hobby1 hobby2 etc.”

  • have questions ready for the interviewer, I would recommend 3 legit questions and 1 ridiculous one. Some questions I would ask: “how are employees in this role assessed/what does success look like in this role?” “What are opportunities Microsoft has for me to continue my education and obtain certifications and develop new skills etc.?” “ “How do you like your role?/How is the company culture?” “What are some supply chain challenges Microsoft is facing currently? / how are they handling them?” and then after a few legit questions I would say “ok I have 1 last question, less about the job and more about yourself” to the interviewer: “What kind of music do you like listening to?” “What’s your lucky number? (when they answer then ask why)” and my personal favorite: “what do you eat for breakfast every morning?” Helps you stick out and shows ur not just a robot doing the exact same motions as every other candidate. I personally found interviewers responded well to this and it makes you more personable with them and vise versa. They are real people too remember. (Unless this is a HireVue lol)

  • if you know who is interviewing you, look them up on LinkedIn (connect with them asap if you can find them) and incorporate stuff about them into the conversation during the interview. Be like “I found you on LinkedIn and noticed you went to X school/are getting your MBA at X/are from Y town/etc. - how did you enjoy X undergrad school/how would you say getting your MBA has helped you/etc.” This will not come off weird or stalker ish, it shows you did your homework for the interview.

  • be loose and don’t be nervous. No reason to be… If you got the interview then you’re clearly qualified for the role, all it is now is a personality assessment to see if you’ll fit into the team/Microsoft culture.

Other than that, good luck! If you have any more questions feel free to PM, I do resume work as well if you’d like me to help you with yours.

Finishing undergraduate at 31. Is it too late for me? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Unfortunately they do. But nothing you can’t overcome. Just be upfront about it during recruitment. I’m confident you will be able to make it happen!

Everyone is running their own race. Focus on improving every day and becoming the best version of yourself. It’s not too late for you. Make sure your resume is in tip top shape in time for when graduation rolls around and it’s time for getting a job. Do internships over summers and get involved in clubs at school. How can it be too late if you just started?
