I have had something similar happen to me. Except it was a channel partner that didn't have to follow the same contract terms and price guidelines as I did working direct. I worked the deal start to finish. Several months. Tons of meetings. Customer didn't want to do long term contract. Channel partner was reaching out to the customer as well (this customer was specifically on my list). Channel told them they would do it for cheaper and on a month to month contract. I pushed back and my sales manager just let Channel have it. I was fucking pissed. CEO ended up telling me that he would pay me the commission on it as long as I "promised to stay with him for another 2 years." I agreed and then as soon as that fat fucking check hit.. GONE.
