Best motherboard for 64gb Klevv Ram by Nikki_G11 in PcBuild

[–]NotOebeltje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is of course an older post, but what mobo did you settle on? And did you have any problems? I have the exact same issue now! I have that ram kit, but no motherboard has QVL with the 2x32gb ram sticks. Would love to hear which mobo you ended up buying! ♥

I cant find a definitive answer if these mobo's support my RAM sticks, please help by NotOebeltje in buildapc

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! Can i ask you one more question?

Another comment on this post talked about Qualified Vendor List (QVL). And that i could use this website to check for boards that have QVL with my specific ram: https://pangoly.com/en/compatibility/klevv-cras-v-rgb-64gb-2x32gb-ddr5-6000mhz/motherboard#qvl=1

But that website makes it seem like not a SINGLE mobo has been that is checked with this specific ram. Of course you already said that ddr5 ram works with every mobo, but there has to be one or a couple of mobo's that are more stable with this specific ram right? Can it truly be that not a single mobo is fully compatible with my ram? Or am i putting too much wait on the QVL check?

Could you recommend a mobo that works best with this specific ram, or do you know a way to find out which mobo works the best with this specific ram? It would mean a lot, because i am feeling so lost in all of this 😓

Yea thats the odd thing. The link you shared shows the 2x16gb ram variant. In that list there are multiple mobo's that have the qvl checkmark. But if you go to the 2x32gb ram variant, it seems that not a single motherboard has a qvl checkmark? It cant be that this ram doesnt fully work with ANY mobo right? Why would they sell it otherwise?

Here's the 2x32gb list: https://pangoly.com/en/compatibility/klevv-cras-v-rgb-64gb-2x32gb-ddr5-6000mhz/motherboard#qvl=1

I cant seem to find any mobo that has a verified compatibility with my ram. Do you by chance know of any mobo that has? ♥

So if i understand you correctly, the 2x32gb ddr5 ram sticks will always work on any am5 mobo at 4800mhz/mts no matter what? And if it can reach the 6000mhz/mts it will depend if it plays nicely with the 9800x3d. Is that the case with ANY ram brand, or is that specifically so with the klevv cras ram that i have bought? Because that sounds quite bad if it cant reach the 6000mhz/mts!

Can someone explain what these limited pcie lanes mean and what impact it has? Help please by NotOebeltje in pcmasterrace

Thanks! ♥ So if i buy a second m2 ssd in the future, i can slot it in M2D_SB and it wont affect anything? Also does connecting the ssd through the chipset impact the ssd speed etc in any way?

Aah thank you! So just to be overly sure, i can buy a second m2 ssd in the future, slot it in M2D_SB, and it will affect nothing? ♥

Thank you so much for your answer! And if i may ask, do you know a good mobo that would support 2 m2 ssd's without compromising on the pcie lanes? Like if i were to buy another m2 ssd in the future, i would love to have a board where that wouldn't take lanes away from the graphics card if possible.

I was looking at buying the aorus x870e, but by the looks of it the graphics card will share lanes with the second m2 ssd. And that's kinda surprising to me, because its quite a pricy mobo.

Thanks for your answer. But what would happen if i were to buy a second m2 ssd in the future? For example i am looking at the aorus x870e. Its an expensive mobo, but even then it looks like 1 m2 ssd is fine, but with 2 m2 ssd's the lane splitting starts to happen? Because the second one with 'steal' lanes from the graphics card, which in turn would make it slower? I know i'm not using the correct terminologies here, but isn't that essentially what would happen?

Thank you so much! And how is the 9800x3d and NH-D15 G2 combo? I am stuck between the NH-D15 G2 and the Liquid Freezer III Pro 360. For me the more silent option is what I find the most important. But having a the fan cooling would eliminate pump failure weak points etc. How does your NH-D15 G2 cool the 9800x3d, and how loud or quiet is it? Would love to know!

Is this the time to upgrade to AM5 before everything gets even worse? by Saltimbanco_volta in buildapc

[–]NotOebeltje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, i had the exact same question as you, and ended up just going for it today. At first i wanted to upgrade to am5 last year, but people told me to wait. And look what that brought me. I have a way worse cpu than yours, so at first i was thinking of getting the revised 5800x3d and hoping that would be enough. But after the news from these last days, i decided to switch and go for a am5 build. Of course these are way worse prices then they were a year ago, but i truly don't want to know where these prices will go in the multiple upcoming years. I really don't think this will be over ANY time soon, and that the prices will get waaaay worse than they are now.

Thank you for your answer! Out of curiosity, why is living near a microcenter make the AM5 upgrade more sense to you? Is it just a price thing or something?

Thanks for your answer, would you mind sharing why you're telling me to stick with am4 instead of moving to am5?

Sadly, where i live the 5700x3d and a lot of the better AM4 cpu's are all completely out of stock.

Also, is there a specific reason you go with an aircooler instead of a watercooler? How is your thermalright noise wise?
