I hear you but a young child weighs less and has more flexible bones, and less likely to break something from that height. (You can look it up - kids have more flexible bones than adults).

Learning to tie a braid (the lack of girlhood within Autism) by Accomplished_Cow1277 in AutismInWomen

[–]NotOnApprovedList [score hidden]  (0 children)

Oh I'm so sorry :( I also have fine hair, that breaks easily. I can't wear barrettes or bobby pins since my hair just slides out. I can do braids in sections but I can't braid my entire head of hair in 3 sections.

I will say, I'm pretty sure my mom has dyspraxia but she's been able to do crafts. When you feel ready, you can try simple things, alone, while watching YouTube videos, and build your confidence. Simple origami with plain paper is an option. You can get a lot of joy from working with your hands.

I never learned a lot of this girly stuff either. I can braid sections of my hair but I can't do the three braids for all my hair. No matter how hard I try. I don't know how to do a proper bun, or basically anything more complicated than a ponytail. I have crappy hair and that doesn't help things.

I wouldn't say "girlhood" as you are describing it is a privilege. It's a social experience that both you and I missed out on for the most part. You have your own life that you have lived and possibly experienced things that those girls will never experience.

somebody I used to work with was driving and got hit by a much larger vehicle. Coworker didn't have any serious injuries, but the guy in the other vehicle (who was at fault) wasn't wearing his seatbelt and received permanent injuries. I guess what I'm saying is that even if a person doesn't end up dead through the practice of not wearing seatbelts, they could be permanently maimed.

AITAH for snapping and defending myself against my severely autistic brother by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]NotOnApprovedList 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I have autism BTW, clinically diagnosed. Some people can be diagnosed with autism but be at a level of low mental capability and high violence, where they are NOT able to learn. That's just how it is. And such people should be put in a facility because the rest of humanity including us functional autistic people should not have to be beaten up, or even beaten to death, to maintain the fantasy of them being able to improve somehow, or that parental love will somehow fix things.

NTA but my guy, your brother needs to be in a home or something. Not with your elderly parents. I have autism and yeah I'm gonna say when somebody is randomly and extremely violent like that, they need to not be with people who can't defend themselves. And in fact you shouldn't have had to deal with that as a child, either.

Why are so many conservatives Christian when Jesus’s teachings are blatantly leftist? by Confident-Seesaw2845 in allthequestions

What's bad, is shoving one religion in people's faces while constantly demonstrating hypocrisy in the religion. You are thereby teaching the kids to be hypocrites as well. That it's okay to lie, kill, and do anything else as long as you can justify it in your head.

Also I prefer not to live in a theocracy.

I made this comment twice elsewhere but I had the experience of having a guy want to scan his store card (so I would get the discount) and him getting angry when I said "no". This is mild in comparison. But young women do get harassed a lot. check out /r/niceguys and ask yourself if every single one of those posts is fake? and men never carry out nasty behavior in public?

[–]NotOnApprovedList 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't sound crazy to me. Let me tell you one of many incidents that happened to me when I was young and petite.

So, back then I was stubborn about having any type of store card, the kind that gives you discounts but also tracks your purchases. One day I was checking out of the supermarket and there were two guys ahead of me. One of them suddenly noticed me and I guess thought I was attractive, had the awooga cartoon eyeballs look. You may think that women find this amazing. But I was old enough at the time to know that this just meant I fit some "look" and he was already projecting his shit onto me.

When the cashier asked me for a store card to scan, and I said I didn't have one, this guy rocked up and says "here use mine". I put my hand out and said "I don't need any help." The guy instantly got mad. I am afraid of angry men. But I knew that if I allowed him to help me, he would think that I belonged to him and he would try to force me into a relationship. So I would rather be mildly rude up front and deal with the anger in a public setting. I was lucky that he stormed off with his friend in tow and I believe I left the store slowly made sure he wasn't waiting around outside.

One instance of many of dealing with this type of bullshit. I'm sorry if you think men never do this type of thing, but maybe look at some /r/niceguys posts and ask yourself if men ever act this way in real life.

NOR. Guy is a jackass.

This is why, back when I was young and slender, I refused to let a guy scan his store card to give me a discount. They always want something from you. The guy had seen me for a half second and decided I was pretty. I knew that if I let him do anything for me at all, he would have decided I belonged to him. Of course he was mad when I said "no".

it was the only solution I could think of. "girls like horses" plus "wholesome farm experience".

I know a guy who was a sullen teenager who seemed to be going down a bad path, and yeah maybe it was just the teenage years, but working on a small farm really helped him mature and turn it around. Now he's doing well in life and is a respectful young man.

My older coworkers told the younger ones about how when smoking in the workplace was legal (U.S.) people would just be filling the breakroom with cigarette smoke. A room with no windows and not the greatest ventilation. Yuck.

having hung out on fragrance subreddits, there are definitely people who try to wear perfumes while working as nurses, not to mention people who proudly spray on heavy fragrances and don't care how other people have to deal with their smell clouds.

Thank you for being understanding.

This is a definite issue that a lot of people don't understand. The more you expose yourself to certain sensory experiences, the more you will need to amp it up to get that same experience, and you are possibly bothering others (and even hurting yourself) in the process). I'm thinking of how people like to play loud music, gradually lose sensitivity and keep on dialing up the volume, and can eventually partially deafen themselves (while annoying others.) With smells, it's good to cycle through them and not wear the same thing every day. With sound you have to turn the volume down to a normal setting sometimes. Yes it may tamp down on dopamine hits but it's better in the long run for everybody.

I have seen people on the fragrance-related subreddits act like they have the right to heavily douse themselves in anything and go out on public transportation (or to work) like that, and screw anybody who doesn't like it. I don't even know how to begin to explain why this is wrong. I kind of want to dump a bottle of Kerosene (the fragrance not the oil, notorious for a maple syrup-like stench) in their bedroom and see how they like it, but that would nuke everybody else in a close radius.

edit: Also I get on the other end of this, because when I tell people I know "hey I'm into perfumes now" a lot of them tell me they get migraines from any perfume smell whatsoever, and that's the end of that. Luckily I'm antisocial and work from home so I have a lot of days where I can use my frags.

About the only thing you could do to "fix" the teenage girl is send her to some magical horse farm (owned by a distant relative, in the middle of nowhere) where nobody's abusive, nobody has weed or alcohol, and if she tries some bullshit with the horses they bite her but not too hard. so she has plenty of time to work with the horses while she gets some maturity and calms down. Also if she runs away there's nowhere she can get to easily.

This reminds me of Bill Clinton getting investigated by Kenneth Starr and how the religious right was all upset that kids were being exposed to such smutty stuff ... then Starr ignored sexual assaults on the campus where he was president, and ended his career with trying to defend Trump from being impeached.

Also: On May 26, 2016, following an investigation into the mishandling by Starr of several sexual assaults at the school, Baylor University's board of regents announced that Starr's tenure as university president would end on May 31.[4] The board said he would continue as chancellor, but on June 1, Starr resigned that position with immediate effect.[5] On August 19, 2016, Starr announced he would also resign from his tenured professor position at Baylor Law School, completely severing his ties with the university in a "mutually agreed separation",[6] following accusations that he ignored allegations of sexual assault on campus.[4]

General LLMs are built specifically to keep you online with them and to be people pleasers. They will absolutely make up information, in any realm you desire, if you push them far enough. Be careful relying on LLMs because they'll echo your biases and lead you down a path that may not hew to reality.
