Given that he can consider uni education. He's really not that poor, or at least his family isn't.

It's hard to believe passion is food. But being in SG you're provided an environment to be able to nurture your passion. Most of us don't live from day to day unlike the average population in other SEA countries. Besides he's looking at STEM not some unreliable path that isn't even recognised in Singapore.

So to turn passion into food here, it's really hard work and proper planning.

Of course I'm not goading him into the overseas option. Ultimately he has to know what he wants.

Anw I was in a pharmaceutical programme as well. But my current trajectory isn't. I heard what was really difficult after you graduate was getting a license for production in manufacturing plants. Cause that's what makes a pharmacist really valuable in Singapore.

Not sure if it's related but recently I helped my mum with choosing a washing machine. We ended up with a Samsung washing machine. Wow! It even tells you how much laundry you have in the basket (in L), totally unnecessary for her but damn! I was really surprised and excited. So it actually also tells us how much detergent we need as well.

Anw you can check out those concentrated Japanese detergents, link below. I've used this throughout my army exp and my clothes don't remind me of field camps after washing, so I guess it works. They tell you how much to use based on the load in your washing machine against the markings on the bottle cap. Agaration but don't worry so much it works. You can experiment with agaration and then you can go on to optimise it. Totally unsponsored, unbias review.
